put more people in their boxes, or putting more people in boxes.
Let me set the context of this comment to give you perspective.
This comment came when asked about an organization restructure and people moving around within the organization. The specific question was innocent and the answer was as well, but it got me thinking. The question was; when will the reorganization be done. And the answer was ‘we still have some other moving around to do and some people to put in boxes’….
To the defense of the speaker, I know there is no thought what-so-ever of people being in boxes. This manager is one of the best I’ve ever worked for. The thing that got me thinking is how much of a box we put ourselves into….
Yesterday I talked about Psycho-cybernetics and self image. There is an illustration in the beginning of that book that talks about the box that we put ourselves in and that box limits our potential.
When you think about how much potential you have that is under utilized, it’s eye opening. This potential can be underutilized in a number of different ways; within your current job, within your business or even within your relationships. Whatever it may be, there’s a huge gap. There’s a space between where you are, where you think you can be and where you actually can be.
Your job…
Close the gap!
Stop being put in your box
Well, how do I do that? You may ask. Here’s my best advice:
Get The New Psycho-Cybernetics. Get the audio, get the book, get the work book and use it.
Yesterday I talked about your mistakes are not you. That’s a great deal of what limits our potential…ourselves. We are our own worst enemy.
The next question after how do I do this is probably, how long will this take.
Well, that answer is completely up to you. It’s like the income disclaimer in companies,
how much money you make in this opportunity is not guaranteed, because it’s directly proportional to how much you work.
The same is true of how quickly you can change your self image. If you just read the book, you’ll get some great information, but unless you do what it says, likely nothing will change.
You may ask why nothing will change….well, basically, the pain that you feel where you currently are at, is not great enough than the pain it will take to change it. If you’re ok where you and changing will hurt more than where you are… you’re not going to change.
There’s a story that I heard about a man who was out on a country road and his vehicle broke down. He saw a farmhouse in the distance and walked toward it. As he neared the house, he saw a dog on the front porch that was howling. The man asked the farmer what was wrong with the dog. The farmer responded, ‘well, he’s sitting on a nail’. The man replied, ‘that’s odd. why doesn’t he get off?’ To which the farmer replied ‘I guess it doesn’t hurt bad enough’…
What’s that nail that you’re sitting on? Does it really hurt or is it just uncomfortable?
Did you know that you were destined for greatness? For being awesome in this life? Did you know that God, the universe or whatever higher power you believe in wants more for you?
Believe it and stop being put in a box. Live outside your box. Push the limits of what you ‘think’ you can do and be and you’ll start to live your destined life!
I believe in you and I believe you can do it. Get this book. Do the exercises and watch your life change! Don’t waste one more day…they’re limited!
Now normally I’d tell you about a business that I’m involved in that will help you in addition to The New Psycho-Cybernetics, but I’m going to leave that off tonight. Take in pieces of the change and take action!
