When good things happen are you really grateful? What does it mean when

My Cup Runneth Over

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. ~ Psalm 23:5

The above quote is from the King James version of the bible. The basic premise if it is about being grateful. It makes me think about the places in my life where I have great things that happen and great things that are more abundant that I can even imagine.

My cup runneth over…It’s about realizing that in your life, that you really have more than you realize. the things in your life that you’re thankful for are much greater than you likely realize.

Oprah talks about having an attitude of gratitude. She talks about having a gratitude journal where she loggs the things that she is grateful every day.

What does it mean to you if your cup runneth over?

In my life, here’s what it means to me when my cup runneth over

I have been blessed in so many ways with so many things. To me, it’s about the little things that I don’t think about. It’s about the things that I pass by every day. The things that we take for granted. Things like;

– the grass under your feet
– the sun in the sky
– the rain when we need it
– the air we breathe
– the birds in the sky
– the flowers that add color to the landscape

These are those things that are inspire me and that really make me think. These things cost you nothing. These things are things you can see without paying anything. These things are truly gifts. Gifts that are available to everyone. They are gifts that let you see beauty, that let you see love, that let you see life. True life and true gratefulness. Truly a situation where my cup runneth over…with gratitude.

How do you apply this in your life? How often do you think about the other ‘things’ that you’re grateful for? Do you write them down? Do you really think about things that you are truly grateful for that are impacting your life?

Here’s something to think about… if you’re not in a good mood, go to this list of things that you’re grateful for. If you’re having trouble with something in your life, think about your gratitude list. Think about your cup running over because there are so many things that you can be grateful for.

Here’s my challenge for you. If you’re having a struggle or if you’re having a rough day, I want you to make a list. I want you to list those things that YOU are grateful in YOUR life. Only you have that list. Only you know what those things are. Only you can identify those things that are critical in your life that raise you up, that make you feel good, that really really make you smile.

I want you to make that list and live it. Do it today and then when you get up every morning, start by reading that list. AND, when you go to bed, read the list again. Read it, believe it and feel the gratitude.

If you’re looking for a place to express your gratitude, and a place of inspiration, I want to invite you to come on over and gain access this. Your experience in life is different and I think you’ll find that there’s a difference here as well. You’ll start to see that there is compassion here, that there is love here, and that we want to lift people up.

Just take it all in and enjoy it. And I want you to be thankful for what you have and what you can become.
