Dog Whisperer and looking at life through the eyes of a dog

I know… some of you are thinking that I’ve really gone off the deep end now.. but wait…I want you to hear me out…

My point will make sense if you give me 2 minutes..

I often wonder what my dog is thinking. As a matter of fact, I often talk on behalf of my dog (yes it’s true, just ask my family…and my dog…:))

I speak on his behalf and I can tell you that I think I’m pretty close to saying what he’s really thinking at times. If he’s begging or standing in the kitchen just looking at us make dinner, I imagine what he’s thinking and speak it.

No, I’m not wearing a jacket with no sleeves right now (how could I when I’m typing..:))

Most of the time he’s funny, sometimes he’s sarcastic, but he’s always talking about food…. that, and his squeaky ball.

So I started to look at our dog and really observe his behavior and realized that there are a lot of things we can learn from a dog…. so that’s why they call me

the Dog Whisperer……maybe..

Honestly, there are some charasteristics of a dog that really jump out when you watch them. One of the most obvious….

Love..

Dogs have no apprehension to love. They are truly unconditionally able to love and are always willing to give you every ounce of love that they have. Wouldn’t it be nice if people did that? Think about it… you can hurt a dog more than you can hurt a fellow human, but you don’t. Why? Cuz you love them. No matter what they do, they will come love you unconditionally.

Another thing that I believe that dogs (and all animals for that matter) is that they experience joy and live in the moment. They don’t worry about tomorrow, or yesterday or heck even minutes from now or minutes ago…How much of life are you missing out on because you are worried about tomorrow or you’re living in the past, or hanging onto crap that’s keeping you down? Live TODAY!

One more then I’ll stop, but the biggest thing that I see animals do and I always quote my dog saying this is… ‘don’t think, just do….’ A dog doesn’t think about greeting you when you come in the house.. he just does. A dog doesn’t think about letting you pet him he just does. A dog doesn’t think…he just does. How much of your life is spent in indecision? Not making up your mind… or wondering if it’s the best decision at the time? How many dreams have you not chased because you feared failure or loss or rejection? My advice (and Buddy’s, who is or dog) is….

Don’t think… just do!
