Worried About Your Article Marketing? Read Tips Here!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Articles that have already been heavily published will not help you make your website unique. You want to be unique! If you choose to go the route of posting an article that many others have posted, you will only be setting up a competition between your website and the other websites in your niche. Publish articles you write yourself, or that are on very few sites, to increase your visibility.

Your articles should have good content. Start by doing extensive online research to gather as much useful information from the Internet as possible. The secret to creating unique content is to cast your research net wide; make use of good advice, and don’t neglect offline sources of information.

Be aware of your audience when you are writing your articles. Writing an article that contains mostly technical words is a turn off for users that may just have a passing interest in what you are selling. Avoid boring someone with basics if they understand something beyond that.

Turning an article into a spam-filled sales pitch is a mistake that a lot of online marketers make. Quality articles with useful information will do the selling for you. You won’t get anywhere if readers don’t believe what you’re saying.

Investigate ways to use social networking sites to drive traffic to your article. By getting your articles “likes”, re-posted and blogged about, you can boost the number of viewers in your audience. You can give recognition on social media venues to other site owners and receive it in return by using one of the services that facilitate this sharing of recognition.

Hot button issues are a great way to get people involved in your articles. The media uses this tool quite often. If you integrate hot-button issues like politics and sports into your articles, people will not only read them, but post about them on forums and blogs, which in turn brings in even more readers.

Your article content should be effective and valuable. This is one of the most important things to remember. If your content is written to boost your own profile rather than to provide information of real value, readers will notice.

In all honestly, you will never find any secrets hidden in the field of article marketing and, anyone who tells you that they know something no one else does is probably lying to you. There are no specialized techniques for article marketing that you will not learn by learning the general principles of advertising a business. Understand that article marketing simply consists of marketing through the distribution of content.

Use photographs that are intriguing and visually appealing. However, ensure that you are legally entitled to use the images before posting them in your content. Put the image on your own server so that people can click the picture and go directly to your page.

Articles should be no more or less than 400 to 600 words. If you consistently hit this sweet spot, your readers will stay interested in your content. When an article takes a long time to read, many readers will get bored and move on to something else. It is always best to keep your articles short and easy to read.

Short paragraphs are less intimidating to readers, and they force you, the writer, to make concrete points succinctly. People tend to have more distractions on the computer than they do with a paper volume in hand. To counteract this tendency toward distraction, keep each paragraph and your articles overall concise.

When it comes to writing conclusion, do not include the phrase “in conclusion”. This will signal it is time to stop reading. A conclusion paragraph should be a summary of what you just stated within your overall article. You don’t need to include a phrase that specifically states that fact. You want your readers to see the author resource box, and they need to read the whole article to notice it.

It is very important that your article is written well. Don’t skip proofreading if you want a quality piece that will reflect highly on your business. Your website will gain trust and respect if the content is of high quality.

A blog is a great tool to promote your thought leadership in your market. Your blog should be personalized to reflect you. Make sure it contains thought provoking articles which show your integrity, humor, mindset, professional insights and leadership qualities. Having blogs that demonstrate your ability to follow current industry trends will show potential customers that you know your stuff.

As you can see, nearly anyone can make use of article marketing. Apply the information you learned in this article and you will get more visitors to your website.
