Guns and the Movie Massacre: What Do You Think?
I wrote a post a couple of days ago about claiming your on future v.s. the fatalistic view that “life happens to you”.
It was about the life and death of Jennifer Ghawi and how death seemed to be chasing her down. She died very tragically on Friday evening in Aurora, Colorado at the midnight screening of Batman – as many others, of course.

But when considering the number of massacres perpetrated on unsuspecting, innocent people in the last 15 years, it does raise the question, at least for me, if we are not availing weapons of mass destruction to people whom are not simply excercising their rights as outlined in the 2nd Amendment.
At the risk of being controversial, I have to raise this now and ask.
Obviously guns and the movie massacre in Aurora, Colorado has been on everyone’s mind and has dominated the news since early Saturday morning. And so it should.
It was another devastating blow against humanity and it underscores our inability to stem the tide on these horrific murders. How do automatic weapons, grenades and tear gas can get into the hands of literally anyone who is willing to pay for it.
And are those automatic weapons, grenades and tear gas not, in the context of our day-to-day lives, weapons of mass destruction?
According to the Huffington Post, “you would think that the news media circuit would be having a field day with gun control talk. But most pundits asked to weigh in have been steering clear of the topic, claiming that it’s “too soon” to discuss the nation’s gun policies, and instead opting to discuss how unfortunate the tragedy is.”
Jon Stewart of the Daily Show at least questions this with his incomparable humor.
Jon is an equal “call all public figures on thier crap” kinda guy. Not mean spirited but funny in a way that keeps people honest. We need that
