Larry Rivera

A fan built a playlist out of somebody else's videos, and the playlist started ranking above the channel that made them. Larry Rivera noticed, went looking for an explanation, and wrote up what he found, which is the sort of small discovery that is worth more than a general guide to video.

The other post is about Tai Chi, and it is unexpectedly personal. He avoided it for years because it moved too slowly to hold his attention, and came back to it only when his kung fu stopped improving and he realised he was winning through muscle rather than skill. He describes the depression that came with that plateau plainly, and he makes the case for the slow art on those grounds rather than on tradition.

Two posts, and they have nothing in common except the person writing them.

Read the playlist one if you post videos and cannot work out why other people rank above you. Read the Tai Chi one if you have been training for years and hit a wall you cannot muscle through.
