Kim Thornton

Retirement planned on a spreadsheet looks fine until you add the debt, and Kim Thornton is direct about that. He writes for somebody in their fifties or sixties who assumed the sums would work and has just discovered they do not, and he treats part time work as arithmetic rather than as a dream.

The business posts are the practical half. He sets out three mistakes people make building a sales funnel, and the first is trying to sell too early instead of giving something away and earning the right to ask. He questions whether a two person operation needs a formal strategic plan and then answers his own question honestly. He writes about outsourcing as somebody who does everything himself and knows it.

The most enjoyable post examines the claims made for an exotic fruit juice sold through a home business, and cheerfully separates the research from the marketing.

Seventeen posts. Read the funnel one if you are selling, and the juice one before you join anything that promises a miracle.
