Seven Signs of a Great Attitude- Part 5 of 7- Desire to Give

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

I’m back again to provide some more substance to get you geared to having a great attitude. If you haven’t read my previous post you can do so by clicking here.

Let’s recap so that we can move forward on to the next step in our Seven Signs of a Great Attitude. We learned how to believe in our self, see the best in others, see that opportunity is everywhere and how to focus on solutions. Today we are going to talk about the desire to give. Ever heard of the saying it is better to give than to receive? Well, that’s because it is better to give to others. When you give yourself to others, you have enough belief in yourself to focus on providing a solution to a situation, whether difficult or easy.

Did you know that giving is the highest level of living as stated by John C. Maxwell. When you turn the attention off yourself you start to see clearly whats around you. Giving yourself to others will have insurmountable results for you. The more you give the more that you will receive in return. It may not be in the form of what you physically put out, however, the results you will receive will be just as worth it.

Why is my business failing?

This is a question that seems to be asked all the time. People start their business and want the money to flow magically into their checking accounts, but then what happens? Nothing. You heard it right, nothing happens! Why is that? Look at what you have done with your business. How have you helped others be successful? Or, were you looking to get your business and profit for yourself. Do you see where the problem lies? I’m not saying that you shouldn’t want to profit, however, in order for your business to be successful, you have to look at how many people you can help along the way to be successful or how you can benefit someone else’s life in a positive way. In order to do that you need to have the desire to give. A lot of people who are not successful don’t really grasp this concept.

Make good with what you have!

You have your business and you are starting to turn around and make changes in what you are doing to be successful. What you are going to do is going to be more on a positive note. You will start to see that even though you are not thriving that you will start to give to those who are in need. Whether it be in a physical or intangible form, you are going to make it happen. You will do it and it will make you feel good. It will make you feel happy, excited and scared at the same time. That is a good thing, because deep down inside you know that you are making good with what you have and a change is going to come sooner than you anticipate.

In all, take what you have learned thus far. Have that desire to give to others. It will change the way you think and live your live for the better.

It’s not what you have that makes a difference. It’s what you do with what you have. And that is based completely on attitude.~John C. Maxwell
