Dedication to growth motivates you.~John C. Maxwell

So you have learned the 10 steps to develop your personal growth. If you have not read Part 1 or Part 2 of my blog on personal growth check them out. It will definitely help you get on the track in the right direction. Now I want to pinpoint and focus on what can be of benefit to you with your personal development and that is develop relationships with growing people.

Develop Relationships with Growing People

An important factor in exploring your personal growth is developing relationships. No not those dating relationships, but relationships with people who are doing very well in their life. You want to be around people who are successful and who you can benefit from on a positive note. The people you spend time with will determine where you want your future to go. That means if you stay around people who only want to go out and party, have fun and stay out all night, then you know that your future is not going to be that bright or successful. However, if you develop relationships around people who are positive and spend time maturing on a mental level and who are always progressing towards their goals, then you will do the same to. You will notice that they are progressing and profiting from what they are doing and you want to do the same thing so that you can earn as well.

How do you start to develop that relationship?

When you start the journey of developing that relationship with people who are successful, you don’t want to think only in the terms of what you can get from them. Always bring something to the table, no matter how big or small, bring something positive. Look at the fact that when you are providing something of value to the table that you in return will receive information from that relationship that will help you on a personal level. This will start to motivate you for more value and to receive more growth, which will lead to a productive and fulfilling life.

Engage and be proactive!

Always engage in developing relationships with you growing people. This will mean getting out there and just getting your feet wet before emerging your total self in your growth. If you are one of those people who are shy, you got to start opening up. I’m not saying all at one time but gradually. You will be amazed at what  you can accomplish when you just do something instead of trying to do something.

In all, I want to leave you with this wonderful statement from John C. Maxwell, “If you dedicate yourself to personal development, there is no telling where it will lead you in life, but I know one thing for certain: It can only take you up. If you haven’t already, get started today. Make growth your main goal, and be prepared to climb higher than believed possible.”

Cheers,
