What is SEO and how does it work?

SEO means Search Engine Optimization and it will make a site more visible on Google. SEO clearly will increase your website visibility, traffic and the online sales. SEO will surely not provide great results in a couple days or months. When you search something on Google, Google will show you the most relevant indexed content accordingly to the search term, also called query. The first thing to do is that you need to index your site, and this is a simple procedure. The site won’t matter in what language was made such html, flash, CMS or PHP. You can submit a sitemap to Google through Google Webmaster Central. The page title and Meta description were very important in the 90s, but currently they still are quite important for the Google Algorithm. The title of the page can be seen on the top of a browser such as IE or Firefox. The title must show what the contents of the page are about. You shouldn’t put the company name at the start of the title because it is rather incorrect.

The page title should always start with what the site does, or with the keyword that you are targeting. In the 90s if you changed the page title and the Meta description it would be enough and it was very efficient but not anymore. The inbound links also called backlinks are very important. You have a site and you might not know on what to use the backlink. If you have a site about football in Europe, than you will simply use football as hyperlinked text. Everyone that will search for football will see now this site because clearly is about football. Google when it will index your pages on the site, it will look for the title of the page, Meta description, number of quality inbound links, quality of website linking to you, relevancy of inbound links. All of those things are used in the Google’s algorithm so you should really pay good attention to them.

A thing that is very important to a site, if it has valuable, worthwhile content. The quality of articles on your site count rather much, but most important, the uniqueness of the articles will surely bring a lot of visitors on your page. The original content that has chosen keywords used naturally will surely be ranked high on Google search. Most of the search engines will give low rankings to sites that use a lot of keywords. A site needs to be worthwhile and updated regularly. These qualities are some important key features for SEO. Sites that do that will surely be ranked high by search engines, and the ones that are updated rarely will be on the bottom of the search. Websites that have a lot of content will definitely have a lot of deep links. The deep links are back links that link to your internal selection. A site that wants to be SEO friendly needs continuously work. It needs great content, page title, Meta description, inbound links and other things that I talked about.
