One of the main ingredients in this green tea ice cream recipe is avocados. This fruit does have some health benefits. Avocados are loaded with cholesterol-lowering fat, and full of vitamins. The matcha tea powder is also healthy for you and it has antioxidants and cancer fighting compounds. This recipe has ginger in it. Ginger helps to add a little more flavor. You can omit it if you want.

Below are the four ingredients you will need to make green tea ice cream.

1 1/3 cup of almond milk

1 Tbs. matcha green tea powder

1 large avocado peeled and pitted

1 Tbs finely minced ginger

Add honey, stevia, agave nectar or any other natural sweetener you prefer

Green Tea Ice Cream Recipe Step 1. Combine almond milk, avocado, green tea, and ginger in blender. Puree until creamy and thick. Taste and add sweetener if needed.

Grean Tea Ice Cream Recipe Step 2. Transfer to ice cream maker, and process according to manufacturer’s instructions. At least freeze it for at least 2 hours. Divide among individual bowls and serve immediately.

Another healthy ingredient in this green tea ice cream recipe is the matcha green tea powder. Matcha is much healthier for you than just green tea.  When you drink matcha green tea you injest the whole leaf not just the brewed water. Matcha green tea  is rich in a amino acid called L-Theanine,  this amino acid promotes a state of relaxation and well-being. Experts at Tufts University discovered that matcha possesses an amazing amount of antioxidants twenty times more so than pomegranates or blueberries. Matcha green tea also contains a unique, potent class of antioxidant known as catechins. Catechin EGCg (epigallocatechin gallate) provides potent cancer-fighting properties.
