Unstoppable Confidence – How do You get it?

I find the thing that holds people back the most is lack of confidence. Is that you? Maybe consciously you feel they have confidence, but REALLY, deep down in side, it’s not there. Why? Maybe because your goals are so far outside what they have ever imagined for yourself. That’s not to say you shouldn’t have big goals, but when you stretch yourself, it’s likely you will have some doubts and fears.

I recently was at an event where I learned from people who are very young, yet have accomplished so much in life. One gentleman who spoke has had amazing success in all areas of his life. Now one thing I have learned is when you want something in life, follow the advice of someone who has been where you are and has accomplished what you want to accomplish. This man has made millions of dollars online and is only in his 20′s. Someone you can learn a thing or two from, right?

One lesson he shared was he himself learned from someone who was extremely successful and the one thing his mentor told him was to always be in a state of gratitude. Interesting. Not tips on how-to’s, but a tips on being grateful at all times. So, stop right now and think of all the things you are grateful in your life, and I’m not just talking about giving lip service to it, but TRULY feeling gratitude. A way I like to think of it is, imagine it was taken away from you and then you suddenly got it back. For example, if something happened and you were not able to see, and then suddenly weeks later you regained your eyesight, imagine how immensely grateful you would be. It’s all the little things in life I believe we take for granted that we should take time every day to FEEL IMMENSELY GRATEFUL for.

The other important lesson he shared was not about internet strategies, it was this: 98% of your success will come from belief in YOURSELF. He said if you aren’t confident, go out and buy books on how to become confident.

So, I came home and bought this book I am going to share with you: “Unstoppable Confidence: How to Use the Power of NLP to Be More Dynamic and Successful” by Kent Sayre. I believe it taking advice from people who are very successful and immediately putting it into practice.

Here are some important points I learned:

~Everything that you have and everything that you lack stems directly from a belief of yours.

~Wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it every time you catch yourself uttering something less than empowering.

Masters become masters because they make more mistakes. The more mistakes they make, the more distinctions (small pieces of information you learn by doing) you’ll get. The more distinctions you have, the more easily you will reach your outcome. Think about that as it applies to your confidence and going after your dreams. Masters are excellent at the fundamentals. They go back and ensure they have gotten the basics down.

If at first you’re not successful, be thankful. Some of the least successful people out there had early successes and decided that there was no room for improvement; therefore they became complacent and stagnated.

Compare this to people who fail royally the first few times. These late bloomers have to develop skills to adjust their behavior based on feedback. They tend to develop habits that lead them toward continual improvement. As they develop these habits and begin to succeed, they eventually surpass the early bloomers in productivity.

I have purchased other books on unstoppable confidence, but I feel Kent Sayre’s book “Unstoppable Confidence: How to Use the Power of NLP to Be More Dynamic and Successful” is by far the best. Kent himself was painfully shy and is now a very successful speaker and author, so he knows first hand how building unstoppable confidence is absolutely attainable.

If you are looking to have unstoppable confidence in all areas of your life, you must work more on yourself than you do on your business, as the great Jim Rohn once said.

I also recommend you connect with like minded people who are reaching their goals. You’ve heard the saying, your income is the average of the 5 people you most associate with? Find people you can connect with who have similar goals and who are achieving what you want to achieve. Build relationships and constantly be learning and growing.
