Have you ever felt like you are working hard and not getting anywhere?
Part of the problem is that we are concentrating on the wrong things.
There is a concept called the 80-20 Rule says that says 20% of something will give us 80% of our outcome. This applies to things we own, time we spend and people we spend time with. For example most people use 20% of what they own 80% of the time.

80-20 Rule in Time Management
We spend 80% of our time on things that give us 20% of our results and 20% on things that give us 80% of our results. What are you doing on a typical work day. We spend time reading and answering emails, checking out Facebook and You Tube and looking at interesting things. We learn new things. All of this is great, but will not neccessarily bring in the money. The money producing activities are the ones where we are engaging with people who are our potential or actual clients or business partners. Writing a blog post is only effective if we publisize it on social media or mail it to our list.
So think about what you do on a daily basis and make sure you include money producing activities every day. -
80-20 Rule in Person Contacts
The rule also works for people. Have you ever dealt with someone who asks a lot of questions, has a lot of special requests and in the end doesn’t buy or do anything or something small? The time you spent on this person wasn’t worth the results. Most of the people we deal with end up being a waste of time. Even if they buy, it is such a hastle, that we would rather not deal with them. In the beginning I had a lot of these kinds of people. I wanted to succeed so badly that I worked with whoever was interested and many of them were more problems than they were worth. I have started to be more selective. If I feel someone will be more of a burden than an asset, I stop working with them or draw the line to what I am willing to accept.
This was more of a problem when I worked offline. With internet marketing, people come to you and you can screen them more before you actually start spending time with them. The people who open your emails and show interest are more likely to be serious.
So stop wasting time on people that drain you and look for people that give you energy and help build you and your business.
By blogging I can enable people to get to know me and see who I am, so that they know who they are working with. This creates a better chance that they are the right match and will be good business partners.
