You know that feeling. You hear the music–what was that, ten years ago?

That night in the club, when we were young. The nights were crystal clear–the stars were always out–and there was no doubt in our minds. We knew why we were going out and we knew what might happen if we, or they, played their cards right.

Friday nights, when you still had the energy and the inspiration–the radio DJs were our best friends, and our running partners for the evening all had the same thing in mind.

What happens when we get old?

Hey, she ain’t no spring chicken but she’s still fine…is that OK?

At what point does our mortality catch up with us?

You know brother–or sister–as the case may be, we’re all going to die. Prince made that clear in 1979, long before 1999, and in 2009 we wondered where the years went.

My message to you, dear reader, is to live while you can, as Steve Winwood would say.

The day is coming when all this grandstanding and all this “carrying on” about who’s an expert or mentor or coach–all this BS is coming to an end.

In 100 years both you and I will be distant memories.

What are you going to do in the interim?

Will you shrink back and slink through life, letting potbellied blowhards and overtanned douchebags dictate the order of your life?

Or will you insist that life give you what you demand regardless of the cost and without concern for who has to pay for it?

I tell you this is one big illusion. How can a person who was broke as a damn joke just 24 months ago declare themselves to be a world class coach or mentor today?

What the hell do any of these people have to do with you and your destiny?

Well for one they have the nerve to declare themselves great.

You can do the same.

After all who’s going to challenge you?

I mean it! YOU can do this!

Want to know a secret? The only people who make any money in this world, generally speaking, are the ones who see themselves as worthy. General consensus be damned.

And nobody can stop you.

Learn the techniques. Apply yourself. Do the work. And collect the checks. You will make money. Perhaps you will be rich. Really rich. So rich that you can not only talk about how much you make in a “month,” but also talk about how much you are “worth.”

Don’t die with the music still in you. You know why you shouldn’t do that?

Because. When you die the world will keep on spinning. You will get old and decrepit and nobody but perhaps a handful of people will care. You body will disintegrate into dust and the universe won’t even blink.

How liberating is that?

So, as the late great Heavy D used to say, “Don’t hold nothing back money!!!”

Express yourself without remorse and without regret.

You owe it to yourself and you owe a big fat middle finger to the world.

Really. What have they done for you besides demand that you pay your damn bills and spare a damn dollar when you’re just trying to cross the street and get to work?

You better live your life while you have the chance. Don’t let it pass you by.

And what does money have to do with it? It has everything if you don’t have any.

I know. Seriously.

Here is your chance to do it right. If you don’t and you pass on what you see right in front of you, then I can’t do nothing for you.

Make the jump. Cross the chasm. Run the gauntlet.

And emerge on the other side.

Look, even if you don’t buy into what I have to offer, do SOMETHING. Don’t just live out your days and get old and die and curse all of existence for an outcome which you designed.

It’s just an illusion.

Money, that is. It won’t make you happy. You could have all the money in the world and still be unhappy. The happy part is up to you.
