How can I improve the pagerank of my website or my blog in Google and other search engines?
Hello. I’d like to share these ideas that I have come across of various ways that you can rank your blog or website in the search engines to gain popularity.
Pagerank
(Note: I included this to clarify a common misconception about “page ranking” having to do with how your web pages ranked in the search engines…) #pagerankPageRank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page[1] and used by the Google web search engine, that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents,
This can be a very complicated subject and often is a headache for website or blog owners to have to deal with. I’m going to keep this simple and basic so that you can get the ideas and further your own research into the areas that you are interested in.
I’ve provided links wherever I could.
Here’s a simple example of how to get info on your pagerank rating:

This is what came up as the number one result:

So, it would be smart to go through that with a good student attitude and you’ll learn from the people that invented page ranking!
1. LOOK GOOD IN THE SEARCH RESULTS
Your page title is used as a suggestion for the title in Google’s search results. Describe your business in a concise, informative phrase.
Domain names are an important part of Google’s search results. Choose a descriptive and easy-to- read domain name for your website. Sub-pages should also be easy to read. For example, use www.stasiasbakery.com/custom-cakes instead of www.stasiasbakery.com/prodid?12345.
Meta descriptions are page summaries often used by Google and other search engines on the search results page. Write unique descriptions for each page in 160 characters or less

There are some other keys that are worth looking into and these are:
Social media syndication:
Once you have your blog or website created, you’ll want to talk it up in social media sites like Facebook, Yahoo, and Google Plus for example . This is a way of creating natural backlinks to your website and creating a buzz. If you have good content then people will be more likely to share it with their friends and contacts (and who isn’t looking for tips on increasing their pagerank rating, especially if it doesn’t cost anything!)
Be wary of paying someone to get “1000 backlinks for you for” some of these could hurt your pagerank rating if they are robots or link farms. Google’s recent search engine algorithm changes were likely due to overcoming the “robot generated” pagerank ratings.
Real Simple Syndication
You can get an RSS feed installed on your website, you can easily pass this link to other sites to have your content show up on their site. I use an RSS feed for example from my blog to share my new content to a number of other social media sites that I have accounts with. That can save having to update manually all over the place!
This is a great way to create better pagerank rating and get the word out about your site, its information and products
Backlinks.
Simply put, a backlink is a link on an external website that points back to your website.
Example :My personal music site is http://jeremusic.com, on my LinkedIn profile I have a link to my website. That is ‘one’ backlink that google can find when searching.
Example : My artist name is “Jeremusic”, and if you do a google search for jeremusic like this you get my music website on the first page and between 7 to 9 out of the top ten search results are all my sites or blogs.
This is achieved by having authority sites (like empowernetwork.com) have links pointing to your site: My blog platform site (this one!) has an Alexa rating in the top 500 worldwide, so it’s seen as an authority site to help pagerank rating value for my links. ►
