Helping people grow. Every day. Grow yourself, and help others around you to do the same.

Hello. I wanted to share with you a passionate thought that I had regarding what my wife and I have been doing for years now, with our own three children growing up and her work in nurseries and school, and now over ten years fostering and my work training others in using computers. We’ve being helping people grow. A lot. A large number of children’s lives have been cared for by ourselves and our own children have children of their own, and that’s just amazing!
High tech education
Having new technology things is great and high-tech has always been part of our lives (I’m a self taught computer technician!) and seeing the youngest children take to the new technologies so easily is fantastic to see!
Here our three year old is drawing on the tablet and using the learning apps that are on there. Touch screen is just so intuitive for these kids, really. They just ‘get it’ so fast! Before they can even read or write!
Helping people to help other people.
Being able to look back on a 31 year span of activity, I can see that the idea of helping people to help people was never far from our thoughts, and knowing that what you teach a child or a young person will expand out from them like ripples in a pond, brings to one’s consciousness the need to be true in what you say and to put in the hands of people tools to think with.
You can’t teach someone everything. No one can. But you CAN teach someone how to learn and that way they can teach themselves.
That’s been a great part of our lives. Teaching others how to learn, and a great part of that is getting young people to overcome their own self-doubt. “I’m just dumb”, or “I’ll never be able to learn this stuff” we often hear said.
But we have a secret weapon. We know the barriers to study and we know that a person can only learn a new thing within the reference of what he or she already knows.
Helping others to learn internet marketing.
I’ve been learning internet marketing for just over a year now and I’ve noticed that there is a ‘high failure rate’ that is spread all over the web.
Truthfully, internet marketing to a total newcomer has a fairly large new vocabulary to learn, just to talk about the subject and understand others.
I think this is often missed and many people go around for ages with mis-conceptions due to mis-understood words. Very often these words are usual everyday words, but they have a SPECIAL meaning in the field of internet marketing, a fact which is unknown to a new person.
You have to know the definition of the word as it is being used in the field that you are studying, or you’ll make some pretty crazy(wrong) assumptions!
Clarify the words that you use!
If you’re reading something or listening to a video ro audio, and you suddenly ‘lose track’ of what was being said, stop the track and go back to earlier where you were understanding well.
Re-listen to the next part carefully, noticing if there is any word used that you don’t fully understand.
Go find the right definition of it (the one that fits with the context of the subject ) and then cover the section again.
Now it should make sense.
You should also clarify all the other definitions of that word to ensure you’ll never be held up by it again, or not understand it when it is used later with perhaps another definition.
Increase your IQ easily.
This is the way you increase your IQ by the way.
So whatever you need to learn in your life, make sure you have access to good dictionaries, paper ones are still cool! or online, and cross check the definitions too. Some editions are limited in their scope, and might not have the definition of the word as it is actually being used in the subject that you’re studying, especially ‘techy’ ones, like music or marketing.
I started putting together a simple glossary for marketers, and will add to it as I can, and you can help me as well! Just send me the great definitions that you find and I’ll include them!
Well, that’s all for today; I hope I’ve shed some light on the subject of learning and getting better at knowing what you need to know to succeed!
I’d love to have your feedback so please leave your comments below and share this article with your friends to help them too!
Until tomorrow,
Thanks for listening!
And as I always say, (and for good reason!)
Flourish and Prosper! (I know you can do it!)
