Butterflies in the Chronosynclastic Infundibulum

Hello! Today as a favor to my friends in sci-fi land (aren’t we all now, in this, the 21st century? the thirteenth year of the the new millenium? ) I wanted to connect the life of an internet marketer and the apparent far distant fantasy of science fiction.

Firstly though, I must clarify my title for those who have not yet read “THE SIRENS OF TITAN” by  the genius Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (see insert and link)

Many of you who embark on the project, idea, hope, path, journey or endeavor to become a successful internet marketer or home-business owner, may have at some time or another become overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of the internet.

Right? It’s just mind boggling to even try to imagine it.

And I have total empathy with you.

In the beginning, you open the door to the internet, and there, shining before you, like a million stars in the milky-way are all the near infinite possibilities of connecting with the millions of people who are connected on the web, who have written billions of articles and created billions of adverts to sell billions of products, or to provoke the thoughts of billions of others who might by algorithmically biased ‘chance’ come to read what I have written here.

And the fact that if someone shares, or does not share this article with their friend may create an entirely different destiny for me, my family or the planet.

Hence I introduce our friend, the Butterfly Effect. If you’re not yet familiar with this concept, take a minute to follow the wiki link I have provided. You’ll go to bed wiser than you woke up if you do. Then, please, continue reading.

So the concept being evolved here is the fact that a very small change somewhere in time and space can have at some other point an effect of tremendous proportions, in the outcome of how things are or are to be.

Alright, so we have butterflies in the chronosynclastic infundibulum and anything can happen and probably will.

It is in fact the ‘game’ of probabilities that we are dealing with here. The facts though, now that we have ways of testing and re-testing, with pretty large numbers, as our statistical analytic friends would want us to have, the ‘normal’ results are found if our selection of ‘random’ results is sufficiently large.

Successful marketers though do have an effect on the layout of the game and as the internet is ‘merely’ a connection of a billion individuals all more or less free to choose on what to click or not, we can predict certain outcomes.

Like the person who plays the same lottery number every time is, by statistical reasoning, bound to win. Eventually. Hopefully before they die.

However, the successful internet marketer does not rely on hopeful statistical ‘normals’ but instead, puts the precision of the ‘causatively initiated butterfly effect’ into their favor, by taking precisely determined actions every day to achieve the desired result.

Yes, you might feel that you’re dealing with ‘Flubber’ at times but it’s a flubber that responds in a particular way. (or so the SEO experts would likely want you to believe, or they have some hard work to do when the next furry algorithm gets let out of the cage!)

SO WHAT’S THE POINT?

The point is, that an enormous, bigger-than-you-can-imagine {btyci (R) pronounced :[be-tikki] } result can be achieved through the application of knowledge in a seemingly small way by an individual on the web.

Just like the repeated small pushes on a kids swing, when combined with the resonance of the pendulum creates in a short time a large movement of the mass (kid) which could not have been achieved through the small push directly on the mass.

That said, I think you have caught my drift, so I don’t have to snow again!

Get flapping your little butterfly wings and have a chronosyncalstically infundibulus day!
