Hello. It’s early afternoon here and I usually do my blogging in the evenings, but I just came across this clip from a friend on Google plus and I thought it was such genius, and resonates exactly with me, that I would share it with you all for a number of reasons.

Urban farming, Will Allen, “the future of agriculture”.

The first reason is that it shows what a man with a vision can accomplish. He has an idea, and shares that idea, others share it in turn to their friends and it grows.

The second reason is that, years ago, when I was still living in a block of flats, I put up a short video on YouTube about making your own vertical garden, for apartment dwellers whose problem is floorspace. It got and continues to get many views. In fact it was that very video that began my first online income source, when Google e-mailed me saying my channel qualified to be able to earn revenue from ads!

The third reason is that this concept of urban farming and multi-level farming in an urban environment could help a great many people get access to organic, fresh produce and in my opinion is part of the solution to the planetary ‘food shortage’.

A little research shows that Urban Farming is becoming one of those hot topics, and for good reason. The very fact of bring back food production into an urban environment will help tip the balance of CO2 production. Cities produce CO2 and plants need it, so lets bring them together.

Please take a moment and share this blog post with your contacts to generate a better understanding of the issues faced in urban farming and creating the possibilities for multi-level urban farms to exist and create wholesome produce, for the city dwellers.

If you’re involved in local government, make sure this issue is given the exposure and assistance it needs so food producers and creators of local jobs aren’t swamped by oppressive codes and regulations.

If we create a concerted effort to improve the conditions of life for everyone around us, within a very short time we can totally eradicate world food shortage,we can put to use the suppressed energy solutions, we can create a planet that we can be proud of, and somewhere in the future we’ll be able to say, that we were part of the 21st century generation that created our own utopia.
