A tiger in a zoo carries all the speed and strength it was built for and has nowhere at all to use any of it. Jeff Crosby reaches for that image to describe his own week, then admits he still feels like the tiger while he is typing.
Most of these posts orbit a mobile phone venture he joined before it went national, and he writes about it the way people write about a team they support. He counts down the days to launch, concedes the growing pains, and wonders aloud whether the public is ready. Read them as advocacy, since that is exactly what they are, and the enthusiasm is at least honest about being enthusiasm.
The better writing sits underneath. A summer spent as a nine year old in a small town on the French coast becomes an argument about noticing your life while it happens instead of understanding it later in hindsight. Another post asks what purpose actually means and declines to hand over a tidy answer.
Start with the purpose post rather than the launch ones, particularly when freedom is a word you keep using and cannot define.
