What Is Keyword Density?

If you ever wondered what is keyword density that means that you are concerned with what are the best SEO practices available today. When considering Search Engine Optimization you must realize that there isn’t just one thing that you can do to get the attention of Google or Search Engines alike. Critical to your success will depend on how well you can do both on page SEO and off page SEO.

But back to the topic at hand, it is not too difficult to understand keyword densities and how are they can make you or break you. Here is what it is. It is essentially how often you use a keyword in your article. For example. If you use a particular keyword in your article and you use it like on every two sentence than you density will be through the roof.

This will destroy your SEO score and here is why. The search engines look to direct searchers to the best possible web page containing the information desired. What was happening in the past was that a lot of people where just STUFFING their keywords in their articles for the purpose of ranking for it very highly. It worked very well except that the article was typically garbage. Google picked up and this and basically has a new algorithm of how to best rank web pages to provide the best user experience for the searchers.

This is why the topic of keyword density has become very hot. Ultimately your articles should be a great read for  the visitors. You should not write for the search engines but for your readers. So make sure to use your keyword sparingly through out your articles. Experts say that the density of keyword should be between 1 and 2.5%. There is a great website online where you can type in your keyword and paste your article and it will show you your density. The website is www.keyword-density.org.

If you want to just wing it, the general rule is not to mention your keyword for every 100 words. That is the general rule but you can get away with even every 150 words. Don’t miss the main point of it all though. Just use it enough for your articles to get the point across. Don’t think about Google when you write. Think about how well your readers will be able to understand what your topic is about. This will increase the bounce rate of your article.

The last thing you want is to get ranked really well for a certain topic and then have visitors close down your article because it did not solve what the searcher was looking for. My advice is to simply write for your readers and let your readers dictate how well you rank. If you didn’t know, the social media is getting a ton of attention for ranking purposes. So that’s something else you may want to consider when trying to rank your keywords with SEO and keyword density.
