Off Page SEO
The real reason why Off Page SEO is the most difficult task of optimization is because there is no limit to how much you can do. If you haven’t read it already, learn about how to optimize your blog to understand how On Page SEO works. There is a limit of how much On Page SEO you can do on your blog post. You can go through the twelve key pointers and then the only other thing you can do is make sure you content is good and unique.
But Off Page SEO has absolutely no limit. Allow me to explain. This optimization process involves everything and anything you can do while you’re off of your blog so that you can promote your blog posts. For example, if you write a blog post and you want the search engines to rank you high, you need a ton of back links. Back links are basically other content pointing back to YOUR content. When the search engines see that other blogs or websites link back to yours, they take it as a recommendation and an acknowledgement that your blog post is good quality.
The main reason there is no limit is because the more back links you have, the more authority your content will have. Facebook has about 7,000,000 sites linking in. Granted, you may never get these many but that’s why in the Alexa rankings it’s ranked as #2 in the US AND the world.
How much Off Page SEO would you do if it meant you can potentially get in the first page of Google for your keyword? You would do as much as possible. But with so many ways to accomplish this optimization, which ones can you begin to do today?
Off Page SEO Through Articles
There is a big misconception about getting traffic to your blog posts through Article Marketing. Some say it’s dead. I believe they are alive and in charge. The problem is not article marketing. The problem is that folks think that as long as you submit it to any article directory you are good to go. The truth of the matter is, that’s not good enough.
If you are not familiar with article marketing, it’s simply writing articles with the purpose of providing one or two links back to your blog. This is a back link. Well that’s good. But depending on how good the article directory is will completely determine the amount of traffic you will get from it. In this case it is better to have quality rather than quantity.
You don’t want just back links from any source. You want back links from trusted sources that the search engines like. A good article directory would be Ezine Articles. They rank in 303 in the US today. That’s insanely good. It would be best to have 4 back links from this article directory than 20 from mediocre article directories.
Off Page SEO Through Blog Comments
Now that we know that article marketing is a great way to create back links, it will do you much good if you also comment on other Word Press blogs about your topic while leaving a link back to your related content. Why on a Word Press blog? Because Word Press automatically sends a Ping to the person’s blog you just placed a link in. That’s huge, specially if you do it for every blog post you create.
As a matter of fact, if you want to increase your current traffic, leave two comments on two different blog posts that are related to your topic for every blog post you personally create. The results may vary from person to person and obviously it will depend on the keywords. But for the most part, it can only benefit you.
You can create back links to your blog by simply creating an article with two links linking back to your blog. And, you can get back links from commenting on other’s Word Press blogs. These are just a few things you can do for Off Page SEO.
