5 Steps To Rank On The First Page Of Google
Wanna get your blog on to rank on the first page of Google? Well, don’t we all? I mean, that guarantees boat loads of traffic when you do this because of how many people are on the internet everyday. All you have to do is follow 5 steps, and you will master Google page ranking and get some pretty formidable traffic because of increasing blog authority.
Step 1: Keyword Phrases
Keyword phrases are what you try to rank on the first page for in Google. Therefore, you need to make them count. The broader the keyword phrase, the more competition, and the harder it is to get a decent page rank.
For instance, if you tried to rank for the word, “Google,” it would be next to impossible to get to the first page unless you had ridiculous blog authority and SEO. Don’t make it harder on yourself by going for keywords instead of keyword phrases.
How long should your keyword phrases be? Well it kind of depends. You need something with low competition and fairly high search volume. To determine this, use Google’s keyword research tool.
As far as how many words you should aim for in your keyword phrase, 2-3 words is okay, but 4 or more words in your keyword phrase is ideal. With keyword phrases consisting of 4 or more words, you get a much higher chance of ranking on page one quickly and you get more targeted traffic.
2. On Page SEO
Without following some on page SEO strategies, expect your blog post not to rank unless you just have incredible site authority. On page SEO is when you optimize your blog post itself for search engines by using different variations of words and techniques on your content.
Here Is A List Of A Few On Page SEO Strategies:
- Use of different headings…H1, H2, H3, etc.
- Use of bold, italics, and underlining of keywords and phrases
- Keyword phrase in your post title
- Keyword phrase in a post URL
- A keyword density of 1-3% throughout content
- Use of photos and/or videos to capture attention of readers
- Optimization of photos to increase page speed using this tool
- Use of dofollow and nofollow links
- Use of internal links
- Use of keyword phrase in ALT tags of photos

Step 3: Off Page SEO
To rank on the first page of Google, you will also need off page SEO. This includes strategies like social media sharing, obtaining backlinks, creating videos, and building overall authority.
The use of social media is being more and more relevant to a blog post’s rank according to Google’s algorithm. The main 3 social media sources you should utilize for each post are Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. You can even make social media sharing a game where you can expand it through a website called Empire Avenue.
Backlinks, while being cracked down on by Google’s evolving algorithm, are still essential to build site authority and get your blog ranked in the top results. There are two types of backlinks you need.
You need conventional backlinks and high PR backlinks. Now, high PR backlinks are what give you the most juice and ranking results, but if that’s all you have, then Google will get suspicious and possibly penalize you for obtaining links unnaturally.
You have to make it look like you’re getting links naturally by either getting them the natural way or just making sure you obtain quite a few conventional backlinks to complement the high PR backlinks.
Creating videos is also a HUGE help in getting more blog post exposure and authority. Creating a 4-10 min video related to your blog post and posting it on Youtube is a very good strategy to utilize.
Then you can even embed the video into the blog post and create a link back to the blog post in the Youtube video description. That way, you get a high PR backlink from one of the top sites in the world for your blog and you get more exposure to more viewers.
All of these off page SEO strategies help you build site authority. You want to build site authority because the higher your authority, the faster you get each post ranked and the less effort you have to put towards ranking it.
Other ways to build site authority to help your blog include:
- Consistently publishing fresh content every few days
- Writing high quality content that helps your audience
- Creating some lengthier, more in depth posts about topics that interest viewers
Step 4: Consistent, Quality Content
Anyone who knows anything about blogging will tell you that content is still king and always will be. No longer can you ignore Google’s algorithm and just use tools to spam yourself thousands of backlinks for your blog and rank it the next day after publishing it.
Google is forcing bloggers to do things the right way. What is the right way? Consistently creating content that is of high quality and satisfies your audience. SEO is great and still needed, but you still have to create high quality content that provides a lot of value to your target audience.
You must begin with the end in mind when starting a blog post. Don’t ever write a blog post, just to write it. Write it because you want it to fulfill some sort of purpose. Write it, so that your audience can easily understand what you are writing about and want to read the entire post.
You want to create following of pleased fans of your blog, not just write to rank in Google and make money or whatever you want to do. It is all about the people. Also, be consistent and update your blog every couple of days, so that Google notices your blog is very active and fresh. This will definitely help your blog rank on the first page of Google quickly.
