Create Results… How to Kick Out All the Excuses You’ve Got Holding You Back [Even if One is a Doubting Spouse]

One of the biggest ~~reasons~~ excuses I hear for lack of success is this:

But my spouse doesn’t support me…

Yeah… I get it. Mine doesn’t either.

For years my husband owned a construction company. That company never did very well… in fact, much of the time it was in the red.

During those times it was my online income that kept this family afloat. He somehow, never realized that though.

Until tax time came along.

The first year I made a fair bit of money online was one of these years.

I put together all my numbers, and handed them over for him to fill out the tax forms.

He looked up at me, with a serious look of shock and surprise and said…

“You really made this much money?”

I was like, uh, duh? Who do you think has been paying the bills all this time? Why do you think we still have a roof over our heads?

Even though all the “stuff” was taken care of… he still didn’t get it.

I’ll tell you the truth… that was probably 5 years ago.

He still doesn’t get it.

I basically just do what I need to do, and hand over the numbers at tax time. He has no idea how my business works, what I do or how I do it. So he just kind of stays out of my way.

So… how do you get your spouse to believe in you, and start supporting you?

Create results.

It’s just like when I quit smoking. I tried so many different things to quit. Nothing ever worked. I finally decided I was going to spend a fairly large sum of money and go to a hypnotist.

He freaked… here I was, going to waste a bunch of money on something I’ve failed in so many times in the past.

I can understand that… but I BELIEVED the hypnosis would work for me.

and guess what… it did.

I have never had a cigarette again since the first session I had with her.

Did he believe me when I came home from that first appointment saying I wasn’t going to smoke anymore?

Of course not… I’d gone without cigarettes for a week at a time before.

His belief began showing up when I’d gone a week, then two, then a month, then two without a cigarette.

It’s the same thing with online business.

You have to BELIEVE in what you’re doing. You have to go out there and create results, and keep getting results.

One little 5 dollar commission does not create belief in a doubting spouse.

Here’s what really happens though…

The more results you create the more YOU believe in what you’re doing and in YOU.

The more you believe the more conviction shows up in your eyes. The less shaky you feel when you have to share something they might argue with you about.

When you have complete conviction you can walk up to your doubting spouse and say, with complete and utter calm and clarity.

“Hey… I’ve got to spend some money on the business today. It’s going to seem like a lot to you… but it’s got to be done. I’m going to do it. I just wanted to let you know what’s going on.”

They may not feel confident themselves, but they will see the confidence in YOU and it will alleviate some of their fears.

Then you go do it, and create even MORE results… then they really start to believe. Then pretty soon, they’re trying to find a way for you to fit them into your business… and who knows… maybe you don’t want to make the room.

Please… stop using a doubting spouse as your excuse. You can do it with or without your spouse. Would it be more fun, a little easier with a supportive spouse? Yeah, probably…

But it is possible as long as YOU decide this is what you’re going to do.

So go do it.

Let your results speak for themselves.

2) Write a blog post and talk about this excuse, and how you can overcome it and create crazy results in your business… and include these action assignments in the bottom of your post.

Make sure to share on your Twitter feed and G+ as soon as you Publish your blog post.

3) Share your blog post on your Facebook profile & Fan Page, as well as other social media sites that you use.

4) Take the subject of this post, and write a short introduction of your blog post for your team, and send them a link to your blog post through your Empower Network Back Office My Tools.

This can also be sent as a Broadcast Email to your lead list through your auto-responder.

If you do not yet have a team, start a conversation with at least 5-10 people on Facebook or other social media sites.

(Hint: This is one of the MOST important things you can do, the more relationships you create with people who have enjoyable conversations with you… the more likely you will grow a team that STICKS, that works side by side with you… and that you ENJOY!)
