(San Jose, California)-The writer would like to remind you if he may that we are investigating together, observing together into the things that matter in relation to our way of living daily life? And may he also remind you again that we are not entertainers, lecturers; this is not propaganda or anything that may institute a need to follow something. But we are here because we are serious about the way we are not or are living. With that said could we go into this complex problem of conflict in our relations with another?
It is important that we go into this to see if we can really deeply understand it not verbally or intellectually but see the fact that one is in conflict? And whether it can possibly “end”? What is conflict, does ideals bring about conflict? Does every form of the future and present responsible for our conflict? The future one does not know and the present is the past, the past is in conflict with the present and with the future? Are you with the writer in this? Is conflict the duality of like and dislike? The good and the bad, what should be and what is, does conflict arise from these factors? It is an obvious fact if one is at-all serious and aware that one lives in conflict. From childhood and the long or short years of ones existence. Conflict seems to be one of the major factors of life.
Unless we can discover for our selves the causation of this conflict, merely trimming the outward expressions of conflict will have very little significance. What is the cause of conflict? Whenever there is a cause with its effect, when the causes are understood deeply not merely verbally, theoretically or intellectually but deeply nonverbally with ones whole being as a fact understanding it profoundly then the cause can come to an “end” there fore conflict can come to an “end”.
So together we will find out what is the cause of conflict, the root of it. Of course if you admit that conflict is inevitable and it is natural that humankind as lived in conflict for the last millennium so why shouldn’t we also. That kind of augment (if you don’t mind the writer saying) is rather stupefied and inept. But if one could examine, perceive, have an insight into the causation of conflict and then perhaps it would “end”. To discover the cause is not a process of analysis, analysis implies doesn’t it the analyzer and the analyzed? The one who says I must find the cause of this conflict and then he begins to investigate as though it is something outside of him then he analyzes that. You see isn’t the analyzer, which is being analyzed? Please go into it a little bit if you will with the writer?
You see the writer is asking is the analyzer different from that which he is analyzes? Who is the analyzer, apart from the professional psychiatrist and therapist with all the rest, what we are doing now is to understand the causation of conflict. Is that cause is to be analyzed, if you are analyzing the cause then who is the analyzer? So is the analyzer different from that which he analyzes?

Do you follow? The writer wonders if he is talking to himself? Are you all viewing this really interested in all of this? This is very serious, its not just for the time it take you to view this it is your life? It’s your way of living, the whole question of “love”, “tenderness”, “affection”, “care” and all the things that’s involved in this. It is not just an agreement or disagreement with the writer, which becomes completely absurd. If you are really deeply interested in all of this which is to find out for one self not from the writer but for one self, find out the cause of conflict and when there is the discovery of that cause the effect then disappears because all and any causations can be changed.
It is like when one has a tooth ache or a headache find the cause and it is gone. Similarly if we can find out the cause of the causes of why we live in perpetual conflict? For one to delve deeply into that is not a process of analysis. Because analysis implies a division between the analyzer and the analyzed there fore in that process of analysis there is still conflict. But if we could come upon the fact of the cause, which demand attention care, a deep urge to find out, passion to step out of this conflict, this requires energy. Analysis is a process of wasting energy.
Now is it possible to observe clearly, see and have an insight into the causation of conflict. When one can find out the causation then the whole effect of the thing, which is conflict, disappears. What we are asking is the cause thought, Thought it self? The writer is pointing out these things don’t agree or disagree we are going to examine it? Is the cause this sense of duality that we have division between what I am and what I should be? The should be is a projection of thought, that is that one does not like the way one is living or it is painful there fore one projects a concept of what it could be if they lived a better life an ideal and conforming one self to that ideal.
Now you can see that this is conflict of the actual and the ideal, right? Is this one of the causes of conflict? Which means we never face actually “what is”! Always moving away or escaping from the actual observing of the actuality, the pettiness and idiosyncrasies with all the rest of our life! Can we ever observe with out prejudice, opinions and the background of ones own culture and conditioning? Is this possible or it is only given to the few or the elite there fore it is not something that each of us can capture. You the viewer understand these questions, right?
You see one of the causes of conflict is time, which is the future, present and past. Will it be all right that we go into this a little bit? That is the past, which is all our experience, knowledge, traditions, all the things that we have learned which is knowledge, all the background that is acting now in the present and slightly modifying itself in the future. The future will be what we are now, if there is not a radical change inwardly psychologically now the future will be what we are now, actually. Tomorrow is what I am today, modifies slightly on the edges and frills but tomorrow will be what I am actually now.
What if there was a radicle change inwardly psychologically, then tomorrow will be totally different. That is that all time is contained in the present, the past, present and future, all. All that is now, so future is now, the tomorrow is now. So is thought one of the factors of conflict? We are examining it, looking into it, not making dogmatic statements. We are asking whether thought the whole process of thinking is a basic factor of conflict, which is ultimately war?
Do you the viewers think that we should enquire into time; time is the past, present and future. It is a continues series of associated movements, this time is contained in the now, it is “what is”. So we are asking is time a major factor of conflict and is thought the process of thinking a major factor of conflict? For us to go into that we have to ask what is thinking? We spend our days, nights and years in thinking. All of our actions are based on thinking, our relationships with another are all conducted through thinking, it plays and immense part in all our relationships. Thinking is a part of recognition and knowledge; thinking has done extraordinary things objectively.
