How To Rank Your Posts #1 in Google

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Getting your post ranked #1 for your target keyword on Google is not only doable, it can be actually quite easy depending on the level of competition for your target keywords.

In fact, even if you are targeting highly competitive words, you can still manage to land at the top spot.

That’s right-forget about what the pessimists, doubters, and outright haters you may encounter on webmaster or affiliate marketer forums have to say about your chances of top rank success at search engines. Just follow the key steps below, keep implementing them over, over and over and you will reach your goal in no time.

Step #1:

Pick the right keywords

I can’t stress thi enough SEO campaigns succeed or fail even before a website owner puts up a website or even builds backlinks. It all begins with picking the right keywords to target.

You might just be wasting your time targeting high volume keywords if your content (as well as the product/service or ads you’re pushing) doesn’t actually interest people who are drawn to your site based on those keywords.

You have to be completely honest and pick keywords that are extremely accurate, clear, and relevant to whatever it is you are promoting on your site. Accuracy and relevance are crucial.

Step #2:

Filter your keywords based on traffic and competition

Your keyword targets are going to be the ‘address’ of your website as far as search engines go. They will be the main ways people searching Google can find your site.

Sure, your domain is actually your real address but when it comes to search traffic, your keyword targets will the main way people will find your site.

Since you need a good volume of laser-focused traffic to make money online, it is obvious that, as long as the keywords are highly-targeted and relevant, the more search volume they get, the better. Filter your keyword list based on the amount of exact search volume they get every single month from the country you are targeting.

Additionally, you need to filter your keywords based on how many other pages are targeting them. The less competition, the better.

In fact, if your keyword-based post doesn’t have much competition, your chances of getting the top spot for your keyword at Google will be quite good if you follow all other steps below.

Step #3:

Build your site around quality content

Even if you had the best keywords and built the best backlinks in the world, if your website is filled with substandard, low quality content, you will soon get kicked off your top perch at search rankings.

Just in case you were out when the memo came down, let me repeat a phrase that can’t be repeated enough: content is king. It truly is. Your content makes or breaks your website. Your content can help you build an online community where your blog’s visitors would be your most passionate promoters and boosters.

Great content help you establish a truly trustworthy online brand. Focus on content. Whatever money, time, and effort you spend ensuring that your content is topnotch will pay off on the long haul as your thin content and low quality content website competitors have to constantly keep one or two steps ahead of Google or risk getting crushed.

What is quality content? It’s all about giving your site visitors what they want and keeping them emotionally engaged. That’s all there is to it.

If you produce content that is both engaging and informative, you will never have to deal with Google’s ranking mood swings. Your site visitors will become loyal to you and their loyalty will translate into higher quality backlinks and mentions from social media. Quality always rises to the top.

 Step #4:

Structure, label, and set up your blog to get noticed by search engine robots

As crucial as picking out the right keywords and producing the right content may be, all the time, effort, and energy you put into your keywords and content may all be wasted if you don’t make it easy for search engines to find your blog’s content.

Search engines can’t read your mind. In fact, search engines are still pretty much in their infancy and you have to hold their hands as they figure out what your site contains.

This is why you need to do the following: a) set up a site map for your blog so search engines can quickly figure out what your site is about and where your content is, b) use H1 or H2 tags to emphasize your blog’s keyword-based title and categories, c) use your main keyword target as part of your blog’s title and use subkeywords for category titles, d) use the target keywords of your particular blog posts in the custom description for those particular blog posts, and e) repeat the target keywords of your blog posts ‘naturally.’

 Step #5:

Focus on building backlinks from relevant and important websites

Like it or hate it, Google’s Page Rank gives us a rough idea of how important Google thinks a particle website is.

Use this to your advantage by building backlinks only from blogs and sites that are relevant to the topic of your blog. For example, if your blog is all about scrapbooking, compile a massive list of other scrapbook blogs, filter the list based on Page Rank, and create comments on them or submit guest posts to them.

Ideally, you should have a certain percentage of backlinks coming from PR sites, some coming from PR 1 sites, so on and so forth.

 Step #6:

Build ‘natural’ backlinks

Your backlinks should not all go to your main page and use your main keyword as your anchor (the word being linked to your url).

If you do this, you are just setting yourself up to be torn to bits by Google’s Penguin algorithm. Instead, your backlink footprint should look like the way consumers link to sites they’ve been to.

Step #7:

Use high quality content to build backlinks

Increasingly, Google’s been cracking down on link building using automated sources of links. These automated sources automatically publish your backlink without a human editor reviewing your links to see if they are good or not.

One high-quality human-edited backlink source is the guest post. You basically write original content and submit it for publication to another blog. You agree not to publish it anywhere else.

For their part, the blog will link to your blog through a link on your guest post. Moreover, the other blog might also send you direct traffic since your content engaged the blog’s readers so much that they click the link located in the author section of your post. Step #8

Be provocative and extraordinary

Whatever you’re blogging about, chances are there is at least one blog post on the Internet which talks about your topic. If you want to truly stand out from your competition and rank #1 on Google, you need to go all out and write blog posts that are designed to get attention.

In other words, your blog post must not only engage the emotions of your readers and speak to their needs, you have to write in such a way that other blogs would voluntarily link to you.

In short, you need to blog in a loud, proud, and direct manner. This is no time to get shy or timid. You need to assume an active and in charge tone so your readers will buy into the whole idea that you are an authority in the content category you are blogging about. If you are able to pull this off, more and more quality sites will link to your blog posts, and your site will increase in rank.

Follow all the steps above and continue to produce quality content. By using an SEO strategy based on a solid foundation of quality content, you will be building your website in such a way that it has a high chance of withstanding whatever future mood swings Google might have.

P.S.  What if I told you that if you were to implement all of the above it would take a few months to get going for google to notice your site and what not. I have the solution, instead of taking a couple of months  building a blog from scratch and waiting to for your blog site to be considered a high authority domain (which can take up to a year) you can have that right from the beginning.

Essentially what is a high authority domain, it is a domain that Google has seen a around for a while and it is already filled with quality content.

This high authority domain has a high Alexa rank which makes it much easier to get ranked in the search engines for your content. In fact you risk getting your blog site sandboxed if it has no authority and you throw backlinks at it too soon.

And now with release of the BLOG BEAST on friday Oct. 18th 2013 there will about 10,000 more people blogging on the same domain!!! That means our Alexa score is only going to go up. What does that mean? Blogs that will rank easier and that just translates into getting leads and sales while you sleep.
