This is a bit of a rant… Take a minute, read it and let it sink in.
If you get the message half way, awesome — but read the whole thing. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about WHAT it is that we do all day.
The reason we do something “on the side” is different for all of us. But regardless of our “why”, shouldn’t it be fun??
I don’t know about you, but it seems like I’ve been going steady for weeks now.
But in a good way.
I’ve been creating content, doing some article marketing, getting good traffic to my blog, getting leads (well someone else has actually been doing a lot of it..but I get the results…)
It’s easy to get BUSY.
But what’s the point of being busy, if you aren’t making any cashola, or absolutely LOVING what you’re busy about?
Do you ever get like that?
Like you can’t stop?
Like you want to stop and breathe but are afraid that you’ll “miss out” on a lead?
Like your whole business depends on you keeping busy?
YOU’RE NOT ALONE
I used to spend HOURS doing things I thought would get me RICH, but all they did was MAKE ME CRAZY and ALONE!
Here’s a list of things I’ve done…. guess how many I love?
- designing my blog
- reconfiguring my opt in box
- writing articles (poorly);
- entering them into larger article directories
- spinning them (poorly)
- writing blog posts
- making videos
- trying to chat up people on facebook (creepy)
- trying to get people interested in ME
- trying to weasel my way into a conversation about my opportunity
- posting ads on craigslist
- picking business cards off of posting boards at the grocery store
- calling real estate agents
- calling insurance agents
AAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Enough already!!
Do you see anything familiar?
Have you done this?
It’s ok. Calm down. easy… It gets better. Just invite someone to a hotel meeting 
OK I’m kidding.
Now do you want to know what’s actually working?
ALL OF IT.

Yes I said ALL OF IT. But here’s the catch.
I personally only do 1 thing.
I do what I enjoy. I do what I get results from. I do what energizes me.
I don’t spend time on things that people tell me to do, if I don’t like doing it.
I’m a bit of a kid that way. If I don’t like something, I won’t do it.
But here’s where it gets better.
There are TONS of people that LOVE doing the things that I don’t.
For some reason, I love designing things. It’s something I like to do. I like formatting a page, aligning borders, coloring things, cutting and pasting pictures… it’s just something I really really like to do.
I’m a bit of a nerd. But that’s me.
So that’s what I do! All day, all night. At my “j.o.b”, I design, calculate, present, format, align, integrate… I’m a Thinker and a Doer.
So what about all the other stuff? FORGET ABOUT IT. Someone else loves to do that.
And I get THEM to do it FOR ME
Think about this…. who am I, to stop someone from doing what they love??
The main thing that gets me leads right now, is article marketing, and getting opt-ins. I did Rob Fore’s training boot camp, and it was AWESOME.
But I HATE writing. ok I like writing a bit, but not enough to sit down every day, do keyword research, write 1-2 articles, get them submitted to Ezine, throw them into Article Marketing Robot, spin them, submit them, ping the links, blah blah blah…
It works though!! So why not do it, but get someone else to!?
- When I need my clothes cleaned, I take them to the dry cleaner.
- When I need pizza made, I go to the pizza shop
- When I need coffee, I go to the coffee shop
- When I need a button fixed, I go to the tailor.
- When I need a speeding ticket, I get in my car (don’t tell my wife)…
Did you know that there are people around the world, that will do stuff for like 5 bucks? I spend that on a coffee… Imagine what type of income you could generate if every time you bought a coffee at Starbucks, you could get a unique article written, properly spun, submitted in Ezinearticles and confirmed within 72 hours? With links back to your site?? It’s crazy…
Is this at all relevant to you? Of course it is!! STOP wasting your time on things that you HATE doing…
If you HATE talking to people on the phone — STOP IT!! Do you know I get around 1 phone call from David Wood every 3 weeks? hmmmm… It’s not him live, but I’m sure it works for him when people press 1 right? It’s called LEVERAGE. Everyone uses it that is worth anything.
If you HATE writing articles, STOP IT!! Leverage.
If you HATE chatting up random creepy people on facebook – STOP IT!! (ya you know you do it.) Leverage.
Get someone else to do it (leverage) (except the creepy facebook chatting)… for CHEAP. And leverage their knowledge and expertise for you.
SO YOU CAN GET BUSY LIVING YOUR LIFE AND LOVING WHAT YOU DO!!
