The 10X Rule

This is exactly how I am implementing The 4 Hour Work Week into my business.

This Blog Post will explain how I’ve doubled my commissions in the last 4 months using what I learned from Grant Cardone and Timothy Ferriss.

What I accomplished with this simple online publishing platform and internet prospect acceleration system will blow you away.  (you can do it too)

This business building idea was the brainchild of two books that I’ve read recently.

1. The 4 Hour Work Week, by Timothy Ferriss
2. The 10X Rule, by Grant Cardone.

If you’re like most people that have read The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss, you’ve probably struggled with exactly how to execute the plans that he teaches. Right?

That’s exactly what happened to me.  Tim Ferris did however inspire me to start the process, and begin building a secondary stream of income that I could eventually make my primary income.  The problem was getting everything set up and getting it off the ground, all while maintaining my income at my job… so I can pay the bills.  As soon as the business showed some progress, I’d have to refocus my time back on my job to keep from going broke… or getting fired.  As they say, it proved very difficult to chase 2 rabbits.

Now that I’ve got things moving smoothly, I wanted to take you through exactly how I did it.  Here’s a case study type view of my journey.

Situation

Currently work as a Sales Rep selling Industrial Chemicals. Also working at home to build an Affiliate Sales business and sell Online Digital Education and Marketing Products. Even though I like my JOB, I have a strong desire to join Timothy Ferriss as a member of “the new rich”.FREEDOM!

When I watch “then end of my DVD”, I see myself traveling the world and managing an internet business from my laptop. You know… The 4 Hour Work Week.

Problem

Balancing the time commitment, while increasing my income.  I must continue to work hard at my sales job to maintain my primary income and still find time to build my new online business.  It always seems like I’m robbing time from one, to work on the other.  Taking time away from a primary income to grow a much smaller secondary income has proven to be very difficult to get ahead.  I recognized that my problem was an improper Goal which leads to an improper execution to achieve the goal.  I realized this when I read The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone.

Solution

Use a combination of Grant Cardone’s rules of Multiple Flows of Income, while simultaneously implementing the secrets of The 4 Hour Work Week to finally join “the new rich”.

In the book The 10X Rule, Grant Cardone teaches you to reframe your goals in such a way to ensure you commit the proper levels of action to maximize your results and achieve your goals.  There was one section however that really hit home.

Grant Cardone outlined some rules for growing multiple flows of income.

Rule 1:  Never abandon your primary flow in search of a secondary flow.

Rule 2:  Your second flow must be directly related to your primary flow.

Grant Cardone says it like this.  Why would you want to work (25 years) to get where you are, only to walk away from what you’ve achieved, just to work 10 times harder to replace that income.  At the end of the day, you’re right back where you started… broke and frustrated, and anything but FREE.

If you want to grow a second flow, you must first stabilize your primary flow and find ways to achieve the same result with less effort.  (using the secrets of the 4 Hour Work Week) Then you can add a second related flow.  This will allow you to create a second flow that actually compliments, and strengthens your primary flow.  If you do this you can not only double your income, but you would never want to abandon either of them.

The 4 Hour Work Week Breakthrough

This was a huge breakthrough for me.  I immediately started to implement some of the automated tools from my secondary flow and injecting them into my primary flow.  This accomplished 3 goals.  First, I was able to streamline my prospecting and begin to generate sales leads on the internet for my industrial chemical sales business.  Secondly, it also helped me accomplish all that work on autopilot which drastically reduced the time it took to achieve the sales increase that I needed.  Lastly, I was then able to use that time to build an automated lead generation plan for my internet business.  I then funneled those leads into a replicated sales process to generate sales without the need to contact the prospect directly.

Results

In the past 4 to 5 months, I have more than doubled my commissions in my primary flow. I’ve also spent less time doing it. Here’s the best part… I now have essentially the same system in place for both businesses. The systems are doing all the heavy lifting and I spend my time closing sales and training new business partners to do the same. Let’s not forget the most important thing… I spend more quality time with my FAMILY and have finally created an empowering balance in my life. My plans are to start traveling to exotic locations around the world on a quarterly basis.
