Fantasy Football Tips to Help You Win Your League

The following are Fantasy Football Tips I have learned over the last several years, which have helped me win Several Games, a Championship, and finish in the Top of several leagues.  These fantasy football tips are primarily geared towards PPR Leagues, but if you are in a Standard League they can help you too.

You can learn a little more about my Fantasy Football Experience and a few other fantasy football tips by CLICKING HERE.

You can Bookmark this page or save it to Favorites, so you can easily access the links I have included to other websites that offer fantasy football tips.

Here are Your Fantasy Football Tips

Fantasy Football Tips #1 –  It’s all about the match ups, especially come Playoff time.  This is one of the fantasy football tips that I had to learn the hard way.  Several years ago I went UNDEFEATED for an entire season and made it to the Championship.  I had the BETTER ROSTER and better players, BUT the other guy had a GOOD ROSTER with GREAT match ups. By match ups I mean that his players had an easier Playoff schedule than mine did.  They played weaker defenses that couldn’t defend his players offensive positions that well.  So his guys literally went off and mine didn’t show up; mainly because of the match ups and fantasy football tips #2, which is…

Fantasy Football Tips #2 –  Watch out for the WEATHER!  This is another one of the fantasy football tips I learned in a VERY PAINFUL way. During this same Championship Game I had Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and probably at least one other player on my Roster that happened to be playing in a literal Blizzard. SERIOUSLY.  This was the year that Brady and Moss both broke the TD records and the Pats almost went undefeated… You know, Brady is throwing 2-3 TD’s a game and Moss is catching 1 TD a game with over 100 Yards receiving.  Well on that day, I don’t think Brady threw a TD and Moss probably only had a couple of catches.  It was brutal.  So now when I am looking at the NFL Schedule, I am looking for studs that play in good climates or Domes at the end of the year… just in case the WEATHER bug shows up and kills my team.

Fantasy Football Tips #3 – Fantasy Football tips #3 is comparable to fantasy football tips #1.  Draft with the Playoffs in mind.  Now nothing is 100%, because the NFL changes every year.  But I will go to NFL.com or ESPN.com and look at the previous years TEAM STATS.  You can Highlight the “Scores & Stats” tab and then go to “Team Stats” CLICK HERE TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE TEAM STATS SITE ON NFL.COM (See the NFL.com image below for reference.)

This is such a useful tool because you can actually categorize the Offense by “Passing Yards” or “Rushing Yards” and see which teams are the best.  You can also see which teams have scored the most Touchdowns, etc. etc.

Along with the Offense you can see which Defenses were the Best last year and the Worst.  If possible, I try to draft (or trade after the draft) for players that will be playing against the worst defenses during playoff weeks.

Other Websites I go to for Fantasy Football Tips

Fantasy Football Tips #4 – No need to reinvent the wheel.  Football Tips #4 is this, there are some GREAT Websites out there that have awesome tools and a ton of good fantasy football tips they provide weekly.  So there is no need for me to do all of the homework when they have done it for me.  I have used these sites to make some very important roster decisions throughout the year and it has really helped my team.

Website #1 with Fantasy Football Tips

FFToolbox.com – This has to be one of my favorite websites and they have some of the best fantasy football tips I have ever seen.  They have customized yearly and weekly ranking tools so you can see how players rank with your actual league settings…  Top player adds and drops so you can see what players are trending.  They have Sleepers, Super Sleepers, Match Up Analyzers, News Updates, etc. etc.  This is a free site, so you won’t have to pay for any of the fantasy football tips you receive from them. Website #2 with Fantasy Football Tips

FantasyPros.com – The thing I like the best about this site is the rankings.  It has Fantasy Football experts from close to 100 Websites that give their player rankings weekly.  They also hold the Experts Accountable.  The Charts actually show their track record and how accurate they are.  So you can actually customize their charts by category and pick the TOP 10 (or however many you want to) EXPERTS, who have been accurate for 2012.  You also have the ability to sync your league with their website, and it will tell you who the top available players to add are in your league based on their rankings.  They also give notes and news on your players.  This is all for free.  Now if that isn’t good fantasy football tips, I don’t know what is.  TO GO DIRECTLY TO FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS #2 WEBSITE CLICK HERE

Website #3 with Fantasy Football Tips

Footballguys.com – This site is VERY advanced with some awesome fantasy football tips. I am on their email list and get some really good updates and fantasy football tips for free on a current basis. This website has one of the coolest things I have ever seen. They have a tool called “Rate my Team”.  This tool is self-describing.   In a little more detail, you can put your league setting in their systems, enter your players and click submit.  They will then tell you what your shot is of making the playoffs with your current team (based on their rankings) and different ways you can improve your roster.  Now that is what I call some AWESOME fantasy football tips!  TO GO DIRECTLY TO FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS #3 WEBSITE CLICK HERE

Website #4 with Fantasy Football Tips

NFL.com – I primarily look at this site on my Smart Phone with their mobile app.  I mainly get my fantasy football tips from their NEWS section.  They do an excellent job of having some of the most up to date news on player injuries, trades, etc. etc.  I have been able to pick up some key players off the waiver wire in my league before anyone else was able to, because I saw the news on a key player that just had surprise surgery, etc. etc.  So although NFL.com does give Fantasy Football Tips and advice in their Fantasy section, I normally just keep my eyes on the NEWS headlines.  TO GO DIRECTLY TO FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS #4 WEBSITE CLICK HERE

Website #5 with Fantasy Football Tips

sports.yahoo.com/blogs/fantasy-roto-arcade/target-practice – That is a partial link.  This is an article that Andy Behrens writes weekly, which is very useful.  I will tie this specific site into another one of the Fantasy Football Tips… TARGETS. So this is Website # 5 and Fantasy Football Tips #5.  In case you don’t know what targets are (because I didn’t at one point in time) it is how many times a Quarterback throws to a specific Wide Receiver, Tight End, or Running Back.

This is very important as you can see if there are any new guys that the Quarterback has really started targeting.  A Quarterback will only throw a ton of balls at a target if he is confident in that person.  Sometimes people on this list can be Free Agents or on the Waivers; or if you are evaluating a trade you can see how many balls are getting thrown to different players. TO GO DIRECTLY TO FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS WEBSITE #5 CLICK HERE You can see the image below from the Yahoo Website.  The Left Column Shows the Targets for the week at hand and the right Column shows Targets Per Game, Receptions Per Game, and Yards Per Game. (See Below)

This has to be one of the best Fantasy Football Tips I can give you, especially for a PPR League.  Now although these are some great fantasy football tips and a great blog site, the report is narrowed down to the top tier of players. So I actually look at ESPN.com too, because it shows you all of the players on the year, along with several other categories you can actually sort by.
