being a leader

Leader Secret! How To Learn Like A Leader.

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Do you ever sit there and wonder how the leaders in your industry spend their time or what it is that they do differently than you to get them to where they are?  I know that I do.  I mean I want to be a better leader and I want to grow my business to new heights each and every month.  The only way I have ever seen how to make that happen is to follow those that have gone before you and watch what they do.

I do that quite a lot.  I cannot begin to tell you how many people that are leaders in my profession and who are leaders in my company that I follow.  At first it was kind of distracting and it kept me from blogging and helping others.  But I am over that as I have learned that you must have a daily plan of action or a daily mode of operation, whatever you want to call it.  You must have a plan.

That has been accomplished.  So how does the other part of the equation fit in?  Since I follow these leaders, I listen to the calls each Monday night, and I listen to my Inner Circle audios, I have plenty of time to study and take notes.  And that is one of the keys to learning more and learning how to do more in your business.

Now normally I am not an advocate for public education, but this is one skill I learned in school that I am glad to implement daily and that is taking notes and making note of the things that catch my attention.  They might be a new strategy of writing that I want to learn, it might be a thought or idea that I really need to keep in mind while I am working.  Or it might just be something as simple as writing down a question to something I want to learn more about.

No matter what the case is, the notes and mental notes keep me on track and help me to implement more into my business.  I also found out that I am not the only one that takes notes and is learning daily in their business.  If you take the time to study any of the leaders you will see that they do the same thing.

Just as an example I would love to share with you a video (actually it was a google hangout that I watched live) that shows the lovely Kimberely Tilley taking notes during her own hangout.  She is always asking questions and learning.  She just knows that taking notes, learning more, and keeping track of the thoughts she has is better for her business.  (And with the random nuggets that her and BJ Dolla drop I recommend you keep your note book handy)

Hope you enjoy.  I know I loved every minute of it.  Some very seriously helpful stuff.

P.S. Want to know how you can get a blog like this and make money writing about what ya want. Then check out this slightly cheesy video that changed my life! It is so worth it and so are you!
