Hi There, Friends of Freedom:
When I werra lad growin’ up in Yorkshire we ad a sayin’ – “antit bin a funny day”
Oops, sorry, guys…
Got to revert back into the language used by the natives, often mis-represented as English but known by those from England as American.
The jist of this saying is “hasn’t it been a funny day” and it was used when a day turned out differently to that expected.
And this has certainly been one of them…
Now with all the obstacles that have been placed before me – if you’ve been watching me on Facebook you will know I should have been careful what I asked for – I was, I admit, tempted to call it a day at 11 PM – as I was decompressing from our amazing Teach – Train – Develop – Empower night with my fellow financial freedom crusaders in the Conshohocken, PA expansion central – but then I would not have been true to my commitment to the Empower Network second commitment. I was not going to let that happen seventy-three days in. Just after the example I had been set by my amazing EN empowerer, Mona Temchin.
Also, I was taught three valuable lessons today, that would not wait until tomorrow to be shared. So I took a deep breath, said a little prayer, and decided to go for it anyway.
But I digress…
I had decided to adjust my daily schedule of doership, to incorporate the leanings I had obtained in my recent past about trying to “put a quart into a pint pot…”. I was going to ensure that Key Activities were not going to be missed because I got too engrossed in any activity I was in at the moment. I was going to become comfortable with my imperfections…
So I had scheduled the update of the Empowerment Soundtrack for first thing in the morning (after the exercize – envision – read – meditate – pray – empower hour). Well wouldn’t you know it, I got so engrossed in the videos posted by the great mentors I have subscribed to – time went by and I missed my first deadline.
Here’s the good news… The video that had torpedoed my schedule was by the great Jim Rohn…
So I decided that I’d just adjust my time schedule for the day, no harm done. Just a little behind in my mess (as the pig said when he wandered too close to the bacon slicer…)
But God wasn’t done with me yet!
My extremely talented wife who sees things I am not capable of seeing because of her training as a creator of home enhancing window treatments etc. called me and said I was needed at home to deliver end-products to a client who had been delayed in pick-up and would I step in. How could I say “no”, guys.
That meant, however, that I was going to be unable to concentrate on Blog Production as there was no telling when the delayed client would arrive…
What was it that was said of the “best laid plans of mice and men”?
Time to re-arrange the day again. But God wasn’t done with me yet!
The virus scan software I had decided to set-off since I was going to be out of on-line commission anyway was tying up the machine so how could I be productive? So in stepped another EN commitment – listen to audio training daily…
I turned to my friend Hector LaMarque’s conference call replay – I could use the telephone for that – and whose teachings was Hector training on? The great Jim Rohn…
Anyway I promised three valuable lessons from today so here’s #1 from this pat of the day
Lesson #1 – Always ask yourself “is what I am about to do moving me closer to my dreams and goals?”. Then act accordingly.
Thanks, Jim. Thanks, Hector.
But God wasn’t done with me yet…
It was Teach – Train – Develop – Empower night at the Conshohocken expansion center for the financial freedom of families and there was no time to write the blog!
It was a night, oh what a night it was, it really was, such a night (Thanks Elvis).
The funny thing was – Master of Ceremonies – the GREAT Anthony Hines – used Darren Hardy’s wrap up keynote at the Jim Rohn tribute – as the teaching for the night.
So here it is – via Darren Hardy from Jim Rohn …
Lesson #2 – If you will use your gifts, they will make room for you. Pass it on – books, ideas, discoveries etc. They are not for you alone. PASS IT ON!
Lessons so valuable we had a post-meeting meeting about them.
Still no blog. God wasn’t done with me yet!
So there I was, driving home, and getting my head around the day when I happened upon one of my favorite local thinking places – the Wegmans in Downingtown. They have internet access. The blog will get done!!!!!!
So that brings me to my own valuable thought as a final reflection:
Lesson #3 – God will take you to your dreams, if… If you will just let HIM adjust your goals…
And that, my friends, is what I believe I was called to share tonight…
I can add keywords and stuff another time. As a blogger from another era, Samuel Pepys, signed off, so will I
