When people think of family they probably just think of their brothers, sisters and parents. I think of family and its something more. Something more meaningful….
……..
…..This past week we had a barbecue. At last minute, I was told that everyone was going to come. I used to dread them coming or me seeing them. And a while back I learned a lesson. A month before my grandpa passed away, on Thanksgiving 2011, my grandpa made a speech. He was terminally ill with cancer and had a hard time speaking. But he said that once he was gone, he didn’t want everyone to separate and stop spending time with each other.
He wanted EVERYONE to be united. He wanted everyone to love each other and not fight, and that was the last time I heard him speak. And he was right. Here I am, dreading spending time with my family and my grandpa is on his last living days, telling everyone to enjoy each other, spend time with each other But its important to have family.
WHO ELSE ARE YOU going to count on or hold accountable? Not your friends….UNLESS you have those REALLY good friends who call you and talk to you all the time to check on you. But you need family. People you can trust, count on, and depend on. Theres families not talking to each other because of money. MONEY. Is money seriously a factor for ending a relationship? No. We have to be smart here. Love is easy. Forgiveness is easy. We have to let go of our ego and have the courage to forgive or or asking for forgiveness. Family is too important and life is too short. Lets not be afraid to love and show love. Lets help each other and ask for help when we need it…………………………….
………
EVEN THOUGH we may differ with our family members over beliefs, ideas positions in life, we still have to be able to have each other’s back on this short life. YOU’LL REALIZE in the end that it doesn’t matter what you fight about, it doesn’t matter if you fight and/or argue about MONEY, (which is TOTALLY b.s to argue about it because it means NOTHING) theres always going to be that SPECIAL connection and love that you’ll have with family……
…..What do YOU think is the correct way, having your family supporting you, (no matter WHAT you do, as long its not drugs) or ignoring it and getting offended when you have an argument while ALSO letting your ego get the best of you in the moment?? Its pretty OBVIOUS, right?
