Failure: Not Believing In What You Promote

Do you have things about yourself or your life that are non negotiable?

Are there things in your life you refuse to compromise on?

I do too!

My beliefs are what keep me true to myself.

I live by some basic core beliefs that no matter what happens in my life I will never compromise on these.

I believe in God. I believe that God is energy and the universe and everything in it is made of energy.

I believe we are all made in His image.

I believe that our life is a response to the energy we give out be it positive or negative.

I believe that the universe will give us everything and anything we ask for and it does not choose between good or bad, it just responds to our desires.

I believe that we are in control of our own lives and what we do daily is what we see happen in our lives.

I am also convinced that people do not understand most of what they can accomplish.

Are you asking and wanting something only to find that the opposite is in your life?

The same has happened to me. That is why I chose to look deep inside of myself to see how I was wanting one thing and giving the vibration of something else.

It takes a lot of inner work to align your desires with the energy you are sending out into the

The universe is here to serve you. It is here to serve me.

We are here to serve each other.

I also believe in truth.

I believe that being honest and true with yourself and others is the only way to live in harmony with everything else.

This has been the belief that has caused the most pain and confusion in my life.

Not that it has been difficult for me, it seems it is difficult for most people in this world!

And this also includes difficult for my children!

Somehow my sweet little “tell all” children ages 2-10 are very honest even to a fault.

Have you ever been out with your child and they say rather loudly and matter-of-factly something they observed about another person?

It can be quite embarrassing for most people. For me, I was always proud of them for speaking their truth and then taught them what we say and don’t say in public:)

Then your children reach the age where they don’t believe any thing you say and you can’t believe anything they say!

Children get to the age when hormones begin to enter their brains and they can’t seem to remember any of the beliefs you spent the last 12 years teaching them!

By child #3 I grew to expect this so the dishonesty was a bit easier to take- at least I could explain it to myself.

Through the shows and movies they watched, it was no surprise that they were involved in saying whatever caused them the least to explain and the fewest problems whether it was the truth or not!

These exposures to the world’s young has made a huge shift in the concept of truthfulness.

It has become the norm for people to say whatever serves them at the moment. And most of it is because they do not want to be bothered with helping to find an answer.

Why has it become so hard for so many people to be honest? I just haven’t figured that one out!

One day at school, a parent came to my door at about 9:30 and said she needed to take her child to a doctor’s appointment.

I got her daughter’s things checked in quickly(keeping the other students waiting), got the work for the day, and gave the resources she would need.

The next day the little girl was back and I asked her how her doctor’s appointment went(a lot of kids this age have shots and tests run).

She looked at me rather confused and said, “What doctor’s appointment?”, to which I said, “Your mom said she was taking you to the doctor yesterday”.

She shrugged her shoulders and said, “We didn’t have no doctor’s appointment. My mom just wanted me to stay home”!

So, this mom is teaching her child to say whatever to serve yourself whether it is true or not!

I was floored! I really thought honesty was important to most people-guess I was wrong!

I found this very disillusioning. This was something else that had changed in the last 5 years of teaching.

The general opinion is that if something is not important, it doesn’t matter.

Does this concern you for the future of your children?

Another of my core beliefs is integrity.

This core belief ties into everything I believe and do.

If I give someone my word, I will not go back on it. If I say I am going to do something, I will.  If I believe something, I will stand by that always

Now that is not to say I can’t or won’t change my mind. Integrity is not about all of the little choices you make or the decisions you make about small wants and desires like what color shirt to wear, what to have for dinner, or which day to clean the house.

Integrity has to do with the life choices and beliefs you hold dear in your heart and soul and build you life upon.

I am very proud of my integrity and hold others in high esteem who value theirs.

It is getting harder and harder to find people of integrity these days. It is hard to find people who will stand up for what they believe in no matter what, period!

I was fired from my job because of my integrity- sounds contradictory doesn’t it?

I believe in children. I believe in education. I believe in an education that is designed for and about the child and addresses the developmental stage where he/she is.

I believe that education should be built upon a relationship with the teacher that promotes trust, safety, love, and connection.

The school where I had taught 24 of my 34 years, decided that they were going to take a different path.

They decided that testing, data, and having more than 2 main teachers for very young students was the way to go.

I resisted this change. I did not believe this was in the best interest of the child.

I could not serve the children and families by adopting this new belief because it was wrong.

And I was wrong in trying to promote something I did not believe in.

I tried to find a way through it, around it, and any possible way I could accomplish what I knew to be true and add these other things I didn’t believe in.

Guess what? It didn’t work.

There is no way to act one way and believe another. It caused me to become physically ill enough to have to be hospitalized that first year of trying to cope.

The second year I was fired.

And although I was dangerously depressed and upset over this, I know today that it was in my best interest.

I am now free to share my beliefs and still help parents and children find the education that serves them best.

I now feel very strongly that you should home school your children if at all possible. The private and public educational systems are moving to the mindset that I described.

And it is not serving your child.

I know and trust a system that will make it possible for you to do this.

I am very impressed with their self improvement and motivational products and the results they continue to have year after year.

Do you want to be able to afford home schooling your children?
