Prince Edward Island Review

My Vacation To Prince Edward Island Review

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

It’s 5:27am on Tuesday morning July 3rd, 2012 and I decided to write this review about
our family vacation to North Rustico, Prince Edward Island. It’s not that the beds are
uncomfortable, I’m up early because I can’t wait to get our day started and enjoy the
breath taking scenery of eastern coast of this beautiful province in Canada.

Our Return To Prince Edward Island

My wife and I have visited Prince Edward Island back in 1990 but it was very quick and
I didn’t have a chance to appreciate it’s real beauty. We were on here for one day
before we were travelled on to Nova Scotia.

This time around twenty two years later we decided to spend one week here with our
two young boys and soak up the sea air and eat as much fresh fish as we can. Prince
Edward Island has unbelievable shorelines with all the red dirt cliffs and red rock. In
fact the view from the cottage we rented is the best in my opinion. We are staying in a
cottage inside the Prince Edward Island National Park right on the water. As I sit here writing I have a view of Doyle’s Cove from our front deck. It’s just me, some singing birds and a couple rabbits enjoying the morning peace.

As usual there are your tourist activities to do such as Anne Of Green Gables, endless
gift shops where you can buy yourself a lobster fridge magnet and that sort of thing but
staying in the national park and enjoying the peace and scenery is what this vacation
to Prince Edward Island is all about.

Also today we are going to visit the small fishing village of North Rustico. We drove by
there yesterday on our way back from Charlottetown and we decided we had to visit
the fishing village. The lobster season just finished here and we are hearing it was the
best lobster season in 10 years. So we are heading down there for some fresh lobster
and who knows we may even buy a lobster trap for our garden back home in Ontario.

Well the family is starting to wake up and I must get ready for our day so I will cut this
short.

Planning a Vacation to Prince Edward Island?

If you are planning on visiting Prince Edward Island for a vacation I suggest you rent
a cottage along the shore in the national park. It is very affordable and there are plenty
of beaches and fishing villages to visit. Just don’t step on a jelly fish. hahaha.
The local folks are very friendly and like I said before to scenery is breath taking.

I hope you enjoyed this review of our vacation to Prince Edward Island. Be sure to
LIke it, tweet it and comment.
