Tax Facts You Need to Know

There are two things in life we can’t avoid:  Death & Taxes.  Every body knows that.

Everyone’s favorite day of the year, Tax Day, has come and gone.  Hopefully you got yours in on time and can now sleep at night.  And now the month of May is upon us, which means that we’re done paying Uncle Sam for the year, and everything we make from here on out ’til Dec 31st, we actually get to keep.  Were you aware of that “tax fact”? That everything we make from Jan 1 – April 17th goes right to Uncle Same for 2012?

(By comparison, back in 1900, we only had to work ’til January 22nd)

Look, we all need to contribute.  No one needs a free ride.  But there’s ways to do it a lot more effectively without being such a burden on everyone.

Here’s 24 more Tax Facts that might give you a little gas.  At the very least, they should tell you that the system is basically broken and needs a complete overhaul, not another govt-issued band-aid.

Outrageous Tax Facts You Need to Know

Check out these 24 outrageous facts about taxes in the United States alone.

Here’s a few teasers:

– According to the National Taxpayers Unions, U.S. Taxpayers spent more than 7.6 Billion hours complying with federal tax requirements.  That’s almost 88 hours (or 2 full weeks of work) just for a family of 4.  Imagine what our country and communities would be like if we had that time was spent on being more productive.

Here’s a couple other little-known, gas-inducing “tax facts”

–  In the last decade, there have been over 4,428 changes to our tax-code.  Imagine the cost/time/number of trees required for updating/changing all the manuals, instruction booklets and software for all those changes… and then go take some Pepto.

– When the income tax was implemented in 1913, the vast majority of households paid just 1% on their income, and the highest rate was about 7%.  How much do you pay now?

Like I said, there are some things you can’t avoid.  The tax code isn’t going to change overnight.  But while there’s only so much you can do to get the tax code changed (outside of voting for Ron Paul…), there’s a LOT you can do to make make so much extra income that you’ll be able to dramatically reduce the damage that these tax facts have on you and your family.

Working with us in the Empower Network is a heckuva lot easier (and more lucrative…) than asking your boss for a raise or trying to work 2-3 jobs.
