Give and You Shall Receive

Christmas time is almost here.  The Season of Giving.  A favorite Holiday for millions all over the world.

But there’s a deeper meaning to the phrase “Give and you shall receive” that most people fail to recognize… (and I’m not talking about the little kids who don’t like to hear that phrase… especially at Christmas time :) )

Give and You Shall Receive –

We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s better to give than to receive…”, haven’t we?

It seems pretty self-explanatory.  And it is… but there’s much more to it than it appears.

Let me be clear- there’s nothing wrong with wanting to “receive”.  After all, how could there be giving if there was no one to receive?  The two principles go hand-in-hand.

One simply can’t exist without the other.

With that in mind…

…let’s look at a spiritual interpretation of the power of giving.

From the New Testament, Book of Luke, the words of Christ.  Even if you’re not a religious person, there’s no mistaking the power of this principle, Give and You Shall Receive…

Luke 6:38-

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

“Good measure”… “running over”…   Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Give and You Shall Receive…

Let’s look at it from a more temporal point of view.

One of my business partners, David Wood, had an interview with a very wealthy man not too long ago.

He asked this man to give him one step to follow to get wealthy.

The answer was both shocking… and very simple at the same time.

The man told him, “If you want to make a lot of money, give a lot away…”

For a brief moment, David considered arguing the point… until he realized that he was dirt poor, and he had just been given advice from an extremely wealthy person.

So instead of arguing the point, he started applying it.

The results have been staggering.  Over the next few years, David started giving money away.  Charities, churches, worthy causes…

He estimates that his “return” on that “investment” has been something like 39:1…

Don’t ask me how it works.  I don’t know exactly how electricity works either, but I still use it for it’s benefits.

Giving just works.  Try it.  You’ll see…

Give and You Shall Receive – the Business World

Here’s one more example of how David Wood applied this to his business.

He started a company that started paying out 100% commissions instead of tiny 5-10% commissions like everyone else.

The result in the first year?  Because he’s giving more commissions than any other company out there, more people are making more money than they’ve ever made in their lives…

…and as a result, he’s receiving more income than he’s ever made in his life.

You can find out how he’s doing that right here…

It’s the craziest thing.  He’s paying out 100% commissions, instead of keeping 80-90% like everyone else.

Yet he, along with everyone else, is making more money than ever before.

This stuff works…

Give and You Shall Receive…the True Meaning

Did you know that the phrase, “It’s better to give than to receive…” originally came from a Greek/Latin phrase that translates like this…

“It’s better to be in a position of being able to give, than to be in a position of needing to receive…”

Think about that.  The impact is staggering.

Give and you shall receive… which position are you in?

Which position would you prefer to be in?

Being able to give freely to whomever or whatever you desire?

Or constantly being in a position of needing to receive?

As I said, these 2 principles go hand-in-hand.  They co-exist beautifully together.

But my gut tells me we’re not going to run out of people needing to receive anytime soon…

My heart tells me that our neighborhoods, our communities, our countries and our world need more people who are in a position to give

Why not be one of them?

Your life is what you make it.

Make it count…

Are you ready to RECEIVE them?

Give and you shall receive… the most powerful combination for success on earth.
