Questions posed to “Pags” by me…
Q. We all know that broadcasters are not born, so how/what brought you to becoming a broadcaster and at what age?
A. I realized a great love for radio specifically when I was 10 years old. I also was very interested in the nightly television news. I still have an audio tape somewhere of my very young voice talking over the DJs introing songs on the radio. As luck would have it, I developed a deep, clear voice and a need to opine on all sorts of issues.
Q. How long have you been in broadcasting?
A. I realized a great love for radio specifically when I was 10 years old. I also was very interested in the nightly television news. I still have an audio tape somewhere of my very young voice talking over the DJs introducing songs on the radio. As luck would have it, I developed a deep, clear voice and a need to opine on all sorts of issues.
Q. Tell me about yourself – something the public may or may not know about you.
A. That’s gonna be hard. I’m pretty much an open book. I see my audience as friends, or co-workers, or neighbors. There’s not a lot about me they don’t know. I’m an accomplished saxophone player and started playing professionally at 16 years old.
Q. Do you ever interview important people on your shows, if so, tell me about the most famous one and tell me something about that person that people don’t know or realize?
A. I have interviewed many important and famous people; more than I can count. I have developed quite a reputation as an interviewer, of top political figures, who isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions while at the same time making them feel comfortable enough to laugh. I find the trick is to break the ice with a light story or question — make them laugh — then you have more leeway with the interviewee.
Q. Tell me about the worst radio broadcast you ever did.
A. It was actually on TV. I was a television newscaster in Saginaw/Flint, Michigan during the time of the OJ Simpson trial. My co-anchor or I was reading the daily update on the story and one of us read something in the teleprompter incorrectly and we both chuckled under our breath — then it became laughter and we had to eventually just go to commercial break. The producer came out of the booth.. he was none too happy. We got it together and came back out.. but that was pretty rough.
Q. I need a picture of you for my article…also need picture of broadcasting station, could use video if you have one.
A. You can see my videos at the Television link of my website –
Listen to Joe play the saxaphone…….Clinton, eat your heart out!
Q. If you would like to give information regarding your personal life…i.e., family, children, parents….if not, no problem.
A. Married for 21 years to Jenny. Four daughters Cindy Jo, Samantha, Gabriella and Jia. We adopted Jia last year from China. My father passed away in 2010. My mom and two of three sisters live in Florida where I grew up. My other sister lives in Louisiana.
Q. Is there anything that you have done/not done that you would like the world to know about “Pags”, but you are too humble to tell it yourself?
A. Doing what I do for a living requires a lot of ego — so, being humble is not a strong point to be successful. But, I would guess people would be surprised by how much I’ve done charitably. I don’t talk about me that much. Also, I’m proud to say I’ve been instrumental in helping many others succeed in broadcasting. I think many would never guess that about me.
What I will be doing is to showcase you “Joe Pags” and your station, blog, your Facebook page, not your opinions but the character “Joe Pags”. I assure you it will be positive. You will be the first of this kind in an experimental blogging system….however, I have mentioned it to people and they are gungho for doing it…..so let’s get her done!

If you haven’t heard “Pags”, you need to listen, he is probably one of the best radio talk show host I have ever heard…he is sensitive, but outspoken, he puts action to his conservative views without being obtuse and his interviews of opposing views is delightful in that he listens and then refutes with dignity and class…..I like his shows, and his saxaphone playing too……
The Joe “Pags” Pagliarulo live interview was fun…he turned out to be just the kind of man I had pictured from listening to his radio shows.
