[The 10x Rule] Book Review

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

In this book review of “The 10x Rule” by Grant Cardone I will be focusing on what the author describes as the

.

Now I chose to focus on this because you can actually see by reading it where you fit and why you are where you are in life and business (if you have a business).  This book was also suggested reading from a mentor of mine that is doing very well in the network marketing industry. 🙂

I will be putting a few excerpts from the book in here and a way for you to go pick it up yourself.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL of these require effort in one way or another…

The First degree of action:

This is the Doing nothing.  These people have stopped learning and moving forwards towards and goal in any area of life.  Grant Cardone in no uncertain terms says that if you are here you have probably given up on your dreams and play the part of a victim.

The Second degree of action:

FROM THE BOOK [“Retreaters” are those who take actions in reverse—probably in order to avoid negative experiences that they imagine will come as a result of taking action. The retreater personifies the “fear-of-success” phenomenon.]  From this degree of action a person will give themselves excuses to retreat and give up instead of figuring out how to do something better or easier.

Here are some of the reasons we give ourselves for retreating from the book:

  1. “The stock market sucks; I’m never investing in it again”—retreat.
  2. “Most marriages fail; I’m staying single”—retreat.
  3. “The acting business is too tough; I’ll just be a waiter for the rest of my life”—retreat.
  4. “The job market is terrible; no one is hiring—I am filing for unemployment”—retreat.

The Third degree of action:

(To me this is the scariest one)  People who take a normal or mundane and average level of action.  These are most of the middle class in our society with normal and average everything.  They don’t stand out or cause problems for others or themselves, they are predictable.  Until something rocks their world like losing a job that puts them at risk of losing their home, stock market crash that takes their savings for retirement, marriage falls apart…..

I related most to this degree because this is where I was just a few short years ago when my husband lost his job. 🙂

Here the author asks a great question… Be honest with yourself:

Do you have more energy and creativity available than you’re using?

How would you answer this one? 🙂

The Fourth degree is Massive Action!

Think of this like a kid with lots of energy and most kids left to their own devises are non stop unless they are sleeping!!  They are focused on the activity at hand to the point of not hearing you when you call them, even for dinner. Actually nature itself is all about massive action, everything is a buzz….look at it, ants, bees,

This is where the title of the book came from in my opinion.

Once you wrap your head around the concept of the 10x rule and start living your life by it, nothing will be able to stop you from getting what you want out of the life and business you have!
