Bioshock Infinite is breathtaking – that is the only word I can personally think of to describe it.
The art direction and visuals in this game are absolutely superb. It is no wonder that every review I’ve read so far gives it a 10/10 rating. Despite its amazing beauty it is a ruthless shooter with intense moments of combat like Black Ops 2 (single player) – yet in some cases it gets even more brutal. Both a combination of shooter and “magic” caster game – its beauty is really in the visuals and storyline.
It is a mystery. You are hinted at it in the beginning when you, as a soldier open your front door only to see a cannon firing at your bunker – most likely this entire game takes place in the “near death experience” – whether you’ve already died or are going to die (and you will many times in the game) – the visuals portray a concept of Heaven and Hell within that blends the macabre with the spectacular.
With history as the canvas and the world of the afterlife as the medium, Bioshock Infinite takes you on a journey into religion, politics, anarchy, protest, and like a good movie or a novel it draws you in and won’t let you go.
Yet it is more than a game – or a movie – it represents our cultural position that “We’ve had enough of the B.S.” and we’re going to do something about it. It is a game that speaks to the times.
How to Play Bioshock Infinite with a Partner
You can play Bioshock Infinite with your spouse or partner. Both puzzle/exploration and combat options abound in the game. My favorite way to play it is on the couch with your beloved and give her the controller. She’ll explore all kinds of places you (as the guy) would probably run straight through. What I do: read the Collectors Edition guide and make sure we see all of it – you will want to see ALL of this game. Just show her the “Start” button on your controller which instantly pauses the action. If she gets surrounded by enemies who are blasting at her from all sides with 1920′s machine guns (like the good ol mob movies we all love), you, the hero can apply your Black Ops 2 moves to get your character out of trouble and back to exploring!
There aren’t too many games that “work” for spouse and “gamer” play – This is one of them. Warning – if your partner can’t sit through Quentin Tarantino films such as “Django Unleashed”, probably better skip the first combat scene – it makes Django Unleashed look like a walk in the park.
What I like about the game is it makes no apologies. It gives you the most brutal moments up front where you go “I can’t believe I just did that” and everything after that seems a lot less brutal.
And, like all of the BioShock games you progressively get stronger and stronger, and more “Bad Ass” as you progress thru the story line.
If you buy one game this year, buy Bioshock Infinite
Are you a pro gamer?? I’m excited to be putting together a Black Ops 2 Gamer Guild of Internet Marketers – what does that mean? Well, yesterday, we got our first hardcore member – he’s prestige several times and unlike me is a PRO gamer in Black Ops 2. What I’ve designed is a program that during the “rounds” of a game – we do internet marketing – the goal: promote games, promote media and films and make money doing so – all during the “break times” while we play Black Ops 2.
My vision is to get a group of guys and gals together and jump on our consoles with our laptops and tablets on our side so we’re actually MAKING money while gaming – if that prospect intrigues you, read this article on how to make money while playing games
