To become a millionaire, you have to be prepared to make decisions that won’t always succeed but if the risks aren’t taken, then the potential for success won’t be realized either.

Money creates opportunities for everyone including yourself. With more money, you can help more people just as much as you can help yourself. You will have far greater opportunities to help others through charities, churches, mentoring, creating projects that people can be a part of and possibly even providing jobs if you’re a business person. This all stems from good management, sensible thinking and occasional calculated risks.

Becoming a millionaire won’t happen by sitting and praying for a miracle or playing the lottery every week.  Your mindset needs to change, the rest of the real effort is up to you, to actually getting up and doing something to achieve this goal.

You need to know your strengths that are unique to you, or at least where you can add unique value. Then find a market, a group of people, who want what you have to offer. Finally, you have to make sure those people will pay money for what you have to offer.

Do what you love … and find a market for it. Steve Jobs said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.” He was absolutely right. If you follow your passion — and so do customers — the money will follow.

Own your own business. The fastest way to increase your income is to sell more products and services to your existing customers (if you currently have a business or looking for one). Find ways to add even more value, and offer the products and services to your existing customer base.

A salaried job is a slower and impossible way to become the millionaire you want to become. A salaried job might make some CEOs into millionaires quickly but not a sure rise to the top of companies large enough to pay salaries in the millions.  A job will never make you rich.

Two-thirds of America’s millionaires are self-employed. The vast majority are small business owners who live on budgets, invest their money. Take risks, make mistakes and trust their gut instinct. Take smart risks, the ones that make sense to you. Trust your gut. You’ll be wrong more often than not but that’s okay. Nobody ever got ahead by playing it safe. You get out of life what you put in.  Manufacture your own luck. It’s said that luck is when opportunity meets preparedness. Don’t stop searching for opportunities and never hesitate to go for it.

Diversify. Place your money in as many different places as possible. It takes time and effort but the payoff is huge. Save your money, invest it wisely and diversify.
