What’s the importance of reading to children?

I don’t know how everyone feels on reading some constitutes reading magazines or comic books to be of use maybe so but I am not one to read those so I read books. Books that have anywhere between 100 to 700 or more in words or pages.

I think the shortest books I read are for when I am reading to children (my daughters) when i have them and we are reading them myself and my best friend Amy does as well. To me reading is very important to instill in our kids even if you don’t have kids please encourage reading to children not only do they have imagination to guide them in far off places…sword fights, knights and shining armor and to imagine your there sword fighting or rescuing a princess.

Now I know young boys are not exactly thinking of rescuing a princess but i bet they will love sword fights and fighting plus adventure too. In every book out there is…adventure, there are imagination you need in order to visualize what the author may be saying.

Now my kids are 5 and soon to be 7 next month but they are princesses to me or fairies. Whatever they set their sights to be!

Whatever book they decide to read whether its barbie , hannah montana, bratz, disney princess or hello kitty.

The point to this blog is to be reading to children because the more a child reads the more they communicate and their vocabulary grows.

I love to read so i hope my daughters love to read. I know my ex husband mainly read more comic books than anything else but he did occasionaly read a book when he had to or when he was in school.

When I was in school I loved to read the books on the list and read books i love to read as well i was what you’d call a bookworm. Thank goodness i am not an actual bookworm lol but hey reading can be fun it is not boring if it is then your doing something wrong in not picking the right book for you.

Adults…I encourage reading to children! They will want to read as well. They say we start at home what we will become in the real world once we leave home.

Reading to children will only make them stronger not weaker if someone says to you otherwise guess what that may be because they can’t read or that they are jealous that you do so. Don’t get upset but maybe show them reading can be fun they may change their point of view!

Now you know what to do…comment below to let me know your thoughts on why it’s important of reading to children and feel free to share the blog with others.

You know you want to lol!  I’d appreciate it and thanks for reading my blog!
