What Don’t We Understand?

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Primarily anything we don’t challenge with our minds. Leadership tycoon Warren Bennis once said, “We seem to collect information because we have the ability to do so, but we are so busy collecting it that we haven’t devised a means of using it. The true measure of any society is not what it knows but what it does with what it knows.”

A true example of that is what we are letting Congress do to our society. They’re not interested in helping us, by meeting our needed changes. They argue and pull all kinds of stunts, ignoring the true purpose for which they were elected—helping us grow and increase the value of our society. And yet the amazing thing is that only 57.5% of all eligible voters, actually voted. That means 93 million of us didn’t vote. We need to understand and teach our children, we have a true responsibility as citizens to let our voice be heard and not controlled by the politicians.

The power of positive thinking is something that has been proven, time and again to be critical with respect to the life we live and enjoy. The power of the mind, is something which too many of us don’t understand and thus don’t use properly.

Just think about the news you see, hear and watch daily. A major proportion of it is all based on mistakes, crimes, wars and what these are costing society. These news organizations make their money based on what society is being taught to fear on a daily basis.

So what options do we actually have? To the extent that we recognize and enhance the power of our mind, we can begin to see life from a whole new perspective. Positive thinking is a mental attitude that sees the bright side of things.

“A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health, and favorable results. If you adopt this mental attitude, you teach your mind to expect success, growth and favorable outcomes.” Remez Sasson

If you can do that you can also discover ways and means by which you can expand mind power within your family, with friends, your community and yes our country.
