Life’s Equation

Do you know what an equation is? It’s a situation that has two or more variable aspects to be considered in order to develop a solution to the many challenges we face in life. This blog is meant to help us see the potential changes we can adapt as we seek increased value in life.

Challenges x Change = Increased Value

I’m bringing these up, because I sincerely believe these are two of the most vital and important terms in our lives, and unfortunately all too often we ignore or fail to employ them properly. For example think of this for just a moment. Change is the essence or heart of life. In the course of a single day, we experience 2,880 changes just in the element of time. That’s simply 60 seconds times 60 minutes times 24 hours in the course of a day that we breathe. In this case I’ve just described change as a noun.

However associated with and essential to life, are the realities that within the course of each of those seconds, virtually every element within the biological components of our bodies are going through significant changes. However it doesn’t end there either, for our thinking processes, number well over a 150. Change as it affects virtually all of us is a verb.

Challenges Plus Change

Okay so then what about challenges, you may be thinking? Like change they are essential to life, for they provide us with opportunities to expand and appreciate life even more.

Unfortunately all too often, a good many of us turn our backs on challenges by simply ignoring them. I believe what is most important to appreciate here is that the significance of the first, Challenges, is dependent upon the second or the Changes, we elect to respond with.

The result of confronting such Challenges with these vital confrontations or Changes can be a transition to Increased Value in life.

Challenges Plus Change

So who is the recipient of this Increased Value I just mentioned? Many more than you might believe or understand. I just found something I believe is exactly where I am going with this. Stop for just a moment and think about all the relationships you have, within family, within communities, within business or your work, or quite possibly someone you have never known but shows up today at a conference or meeting you are attending. Challenges Plus Change can be of critical value to each and every one of those relationships.

What I just learned is that “Out of allied effort comes greater power.” When you share and open the hearts and minds of others, without criticism, or derogatory thoughts, you can enhance the value of the solutions you are seeking. Another example of Challenges vs. Change at work.

Once again I want you to understand these are essential concepts of Life that only you and you alone can be held accountable for. The more you elect to explore and adhere to, relevant to what we just discussed, the bigger and better, life can be.
