Look No further on an Ebony magazine article the most successful comedian Steve Harvey gave simple principle (s) to having success in reading this article I found it to be rather eye opening and giving the very answers to people wanting to know the secrets or steps to success. I know I was always looking for some secret way to become successful or steps to follow. So I thought this would be great to share it with you all.
Simple Principle # 1:
Be the Best
In the article Steve Harvey shared how he left his various job positions back in 1985 with Ford Motor Co. to pursue his passion at becoming the best stand-up comedian. He made sure he did everything he had to do to become the best that he is today. He went through trials and tribulations, but stuck with it because this was something he was very passionate about. No matter what you are doing, whether its being a stay at home mom or dad, or working for someone, or working for yourself make sure your passionate about what your doing and give your very all in being the best in what you do. Don’t quit on the first, second or even third signs of adversity because things aren’t going as quickly as you wanted or expected it to. Learn your craft repair your mistakes, keep revamping your goals if needed to get to be the best in what you’re doing. Learn this simple principle to help you realize what your best.
Simple Principle #2
Have an Unbeatable Work Ethic
In this simple principle Steve Harvey says: “You have to have a work ethic that defies logic”. Look we all know that to gain fruits of labor you have to do some labor to produce the fruit. In other words GET ER DONE! You have to develop your mindset that if you don’t do what you need to then it won’t happen. Like Nike Just do it! Get up early look over your goals, set up a schedule that will help you get things done on your to do list. Stay up late to finish what you’ve started; you have to keep it going even when you don’t want to. If you don’t then all you have is yourself to blame and there isn’t anything worst than disappointing yourself.
Simple Principle # 3
Take Care of your temple
Steve Harvey gave the very same quote that I use to hear growing up “God has given me a temple”. Your body is your temple to care for, love and cherish. Get up and work out, , it may help to get a trainer; eat properly see a nutritionist to help you if your not sure how to go about eating healthy. See your physician to check on your health so that you can get great tips on to remain healthy. All of these are to help give you energy and stamina while you’re on the way to being the best. Simple principle we all should do.
Simple Principle #4
Bounce Back from Failure
Even the great Steve Harvey had hardships in his career. Back in 2005 Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge show was cancelled. He had no income coming and no tours scheduled at that time. But instead of just quitting he got up brushed himself off and allowed his drive and passion to help him create his on radio show that he owned outright. I felt that his quote in Ebony magazine says it all “You may fail, but you’re not a failure if you’re learning. When you learn, you grow. That’s how it’s done. I don’t care how many times you have to keep getting up; if you stay down, it’s over. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Shake the naysayers. Quit talking to the haters. They have nothing to do with your future. They don’t know what your plan is”. A simple principle to not see yourself as a failure but an evolving learner.
Simple Principle #5
Build on Your Brand
With this simple principle you need to take inventory of what you have accomplished and continue to set goals for the more that you want to accomplish. Steve Harvey kept resetting his goals so that he can keep evolving as a person. In doing the same it can open doors to bigger and better opportunities.
Simple Principle #6
Surround Yourself with the Right People
How many times have we heard that you are who you hang with? My mentor Tanisha Adjo says it best in her face book status: “If you hang around 4 millionaires, you will be the 5th one. If you hang around 4 broke people, you will be the 5th one”. If you want to be successful be around those who have the same mindset that you have to be successful. Be around those who have a drive and passion to do more with their lives. Success begets success. Steve Harvey also says it best “Some people go to a certain point and after that you have to let them go or they’ll mess up the rest of your ride”. This is a simple principle we all can relate to.
Simple Principle #7
Be a Rule Breaker
A lot of people like to have rules and follow them to a T all because they need guidelines to blame their failures on. I never though of it like that until I read this article, I may be just the very person that has done that. Mr. Harvey says to not worry about statistics and don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Having another plan may set you up for failure. Keep your eyes on that one goal and go for it with all your heart, and soul.
Simple Principle #8
Give Back
Being in the internet marketing business I learned a lot about helping others. Not to always be at the receiving end. Help those that needs and wants the help. If you around a newbie entrepreneur lend a listening ear, help them to realize their goals. Help that You must become a servant to the very same people who are following you or buying from you. God gives you blessings, so be blessing to someone else. Again Mr. Harvey says it best in the Ebony magazine article “You can’t get your house on the hill, and not show someone how to get one. The more HE trusts you, the more HE gives you. If your selfish you’ll lose it all”.
