How to Create a Growth Mindset

Turn that frown upside down: The next time you have a self-limiting thought, find an objective solution by trying to understand what it is that created those negative feelings and work to remove the hurdle from the situation.

You have to fake it to make it: Confidence starts as an illusion and becomes a way of life. The more you try to be confidant, the more you will find it second nature. Try it today! Give someone a compliment; do something you wouldn’t otherwise try; experiment with a new flavor or song and see how it feels.

Wash your mouth out with soap: This is a phrase my mother used to tell me for using bad language, but by minding the negative language you use, you can become more aware of those self-limiting thoughts and help create more positive and structured mindset by correcting yourself.

Go with your gut: Your body is an incredible machine and knows whats best for you. By ignoring those feelings that “something isn’t quiet right,” may be a key indicator that the choices you are making are not beneficial for you or for the long-term. Always listen to your gut!

Ask questions! Instead of commenting on how everyone is in a bad mood or that things in life seem to be going down the pan, ask what you can do to help or how you can help change things. Watch how people respond! Asking questions is a motivational way to create changes, and in turn, elevate your mindset along with those around you.

Breaking the barriers around yourself and changing your mindset doesn’t have to be difficult; it’s simply about a matter of understanding how you react to different situations and then keeping those situations in par with the results you want to see from your life.
