Tonight I sit here in awe of what occured today. I am truly getting a better glimpse of how I got here as well as why I am here. Today we heard from several people that have been here in Guatemala for over 20 years working for this very moment. I am thankful to used for a time such as this.
I have been extremely touched by the heart and the passion of the people of this country along with the hope that they hold for transformation.
This morning we began training for the format in which we will be facilitating the trainings over the next couple of days. I really love the process it is simple yet effective and gives each person a voice which allows for their own personal growth. The groups that we will be training will be trained as facilitators in order for them to reach others the total amount of people to be trained will be just over 20,000. We will train them in groups of 40 some groups up to 80.
I was really impressed by the training that we recieved today. The trainers were great and very experienced in the format we are learining it was fun and interactive.
I also had a opportunity to have a few great conversations in between sessions all I can tell you is that there is nothing less than incredible people here. When I think about all the elements it took for this group to get here I am amazed at the choice everyone made to invest this week into this country of Guatemala. As I spoke with several I have learned about the many travels abroad as people walk out their purpose in life.
At lunch had a great conversation with a older guy from Palm Springs California. I mentioned to him about a event I attended there years ago and he said he was at the event. He begin to mention a couple of people I met at that event years ago and how well they were doing walking out their purpose. I was really encouraged by that and how truly small this world is.
It also brought me to the thought of how small I am thinking on a local and national level. There is a whole planet of people that are looking to grow, learn and go further in their potential. As I had that thought it triggered another of recently where missionary Terry Law was the guest speaker at our church and he asked for those that would be willing to follow Gods will for their life despite what part of the world it was. I stood up I am here and believe this is just a glimpse of what is ahead.
After the training was completed today John held a service and taught on 5 values Jesus taught in his sermon on the mount. This sermon was to prepare us for the days ahead in closing John prayed for the impartation of the gift of leadership on our lives. The feeling in the room was like no other I had experienced. Walking back to our hotel I had very few words but a peace that I am in the right place at the right time doing exactly as God wants me to do.
I leave you with this question tonight.
What price are you willing to pay to fullfill your full potential?
