Jessops Staff Looking For Work?

Jessops Staff

Yesterday I did a blog post all about the demise of the high street after hearing about HMV, Jessops and Blockbuster all going under.

I covered 4 good reasons why these companies went under, and it was inevitable – and it’s not just because of the economy of the internet in my opinion.

But that does not help the staff of Jessops, HMV, Blockbuster, Comet etc.

Innovative Jessops Staff

Today I came across the story of 5 members of Jessops staff who posted pictures of themselves on the shop window, with notes saying they are looking for work.

I don’t know if it was intended, but it was genius and hit the national papers.

Now they are apparently being offered jobs elsewhere and were even flown to Spain.

Cool.

But what about the rest?

Jessops had 192 branches and almost 2000 staff.

I don’t think they’re all going to get flown to Spain just by putting up pictures of themselves.

Alas, what is needed, as I pointed out in yesterdays post, is retraining.

Training in how to turn your unique passions and interests into gold (or at least money!).

What kind of training?

Training for the Internet Age

What is Training For the Internet Age

Well although in many ways it seems like the internet is the enemy of the High Street, and therefore causing unemployment, it is also the saviour of the individual.

The internet conects people of a like minded interest better than ever before, so people who would never ordinarily meet, can now interact, swap ideas and make money from niches that 20 years ago would have been impossible.

Many on the internet are earning just from blogging about stuff that interests them.  They generate revenue via a number of ways. It could be that they get so many other people reading their blog that others want to advertise on it. It could be that the bloggers themselves actively find things their audience want to buy, or even create products themselves.

Building up a following and leanring all these skills takes time though – maybe a year or two if you start from scratch.

But – where there is a need, there is someone to fill it…

Enter…the Internet Wealth Initiative

The Internet Wealth Initiative

Training for the Internet Age

The Interent Wealth Initiative is training for the internet age UK style, based upon, and using the US Empower Network (this blog is hosted by the Empower Network – just click on the banners to find out more)

No Experience Needed

What we do (yes I am a part of the Internet Wealth Initiative – in fact I’m proud to say I came up with the Initiative bit!) is shortcut the learning curve, and the earning curve, for people in the UK, as they tend to be a bit more skeptical (OK , a LOT more skeptical) than US people.

Gavin, one of our founding members, built a full time income with Empower Netwrok in just 90 days.

He is not alone, and you don’t need any experience, just read the story of this one guy from Las Vegas – No Experience Required

So if you are from the US – well done, just click on one of the banners around this article, fill in your details, watch the video and join us on the inside.

If you are in the UK – and an ex-Jessops employee maybe – then you may want to get to know us a bit better first, so if you have the right mindset you can come meet us in person in the UK at one of our events –

Take the Interent Initiative Test

The Cash Back King

The Cash Back King refers to an interesting global cash back club I belong to which is building me a pension while a shop (almost anywhere in the world, including my travel, hotels, petrol, Itunes – the list goes on).

So, wherever you are, whatever you want to achieve,

Live Long

Prosper

…and join us in the Internet Age.
