Basic SEO Tips For Bloggers

So you’re new to this blogging thing and in need of some basic SEO tips for bloggers to help you get things moving in your business?
Well, congratulations because you DEFINITELY landed on the right page! 
NOTE: While this blog post and video were created with a specific business in mind (Empower Network), the principles can be applied when blogging for ANY business, hobby, interest, etc. Just so you know!
But then I felt that perhaps, anyone reading that post might want to know, “How did you do it, Cherie?” so that thought, coupled with the comments I see daily on the EN comments section of newbies inquiring about SEO tips, prompted me to write this post today in order to share some basics with you!
Now first, let me preface this article by saying…
I do NOT consider myself to be a blogging expert nor an SEO expert. However, I know enough to have managed to get quite a few of my blog posts ranked on the search engines.
I realize that you may be struggling to get things going in your business and need some assistance and that is what this post is designed to do.
Keep in mind that these tips are the basics of SEO and that there is still MUCH more to learn aside from what you’re going to learn today; so when you are able to, be sure to upgrade your Empower Network status as soon as possible!
Okay, so let’s get into the basic SEO training, shall we?
I have put together a video that you’ll watch below and then below that, there are just a few recapped notes from the training, though you should really pull out a notepad and pen and take copious notes as you’re watching. In fact, why don’t you go and do that now… I’ll wait!

Let’s recap…
- Decide what topic you want to write about (try to come up with different variations based on what you think someone might search for)
- Go to the Google search and type in your keyword/keyword phrase
- Take note of the pre-populated options that Google suggests for you and write them down or type into notepad or Word
- Choose the one you’d like to expound on and that you’d feel most comfortable writing about
- If you want to find out which is the least competitive with a decent search volume, get KeywordXP.
- Make sure your keyword is in your title, LIGHTLY sprinkled about 3 more times throughout your post – preferably at least once in both the first and last sentences of your post.
- Add a graphic or two or even a video for visual effect and to break up monotony.
- Add a call to action at the end of your post. Try to tie it into your post somehow when and where possible. Don’t forget to link it to your Empower Network affiliate link!
- BLOG DAILY FOR 90 DAYS AT LEAST!! You may find your posts starting to be indexed around 30 days into this, but please do NOT get discouraged and bent out of shape (like I erroneously did) because you don’t see it listed right away! Blogging takes TIME… always remember that.
Bonus Tip: Once you’re done writing your post, you’ve proof read it and published it, syndicate it by sharing it on Twitter, Google+, Facebook (you’ll need to use www.socialmediabar.com for FB).
