I don’t know if you guys saw my post on Facebook yesterday,

but I’ll share it with you here.

If you know me at all,

you know I’m not motivated to make money,

simply so I can buy a huge house

or a new car

or have a Beyonce type closet

(granted all those things are awesome )

But what motivates me

is being able to help other people.

So when I had the opportunity yesterday,

to share God’s blessings

I took it.

I had decided my donation was going to

medically-fragile orphans

but the problem was

I just couldn’t choose which child to give it to

So I shot off an email asking that the donation be used

to sponsor a child or two who is

most in need.

I received this email in response:

Dear Casey,

Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Healing Homes program! It definitely is hard to choose between all the children, so I have an idea: At our Heartbridge Healing Home in Beijing, we are expected several little ones in the near future. One is a little boy born in December…a echo shows multiple heart defects, but at this point he is too weak to have his heart catheterization which will tell us if he is operable. We are hoping to bring him to Heartbridge very soon to keep him warm and beef him up enough for further testing.

And then there is a little girl born in January, who I believe is having surgery today. She was abandoned post-surgery with evidence of an intestinal blockage and another large (infected) incision that may have been an unsuccessful attempt to correct a bowel perforation. Surgeons aren’t quite sure what they will encounter, but hopefully they will be able to fix everything they find. I would expect her to be in recovery for several weeks before being discharged to Heartbridge.

Would it work for you to split your donation into two sponsorships? That would ultimately work out to about ——– to help with their care. Please just let me know if that will work, and I will start the sponsorships when each child arrives.
