Well, I’ve never written a blog before & it seems awkward writing about myself – so we’ll see how this goes.
My Current Goal:
In every rural area in the U.S. there are independent utility companies, who can Not afford to carry folks when they can Not pay their bill on time. So those folks get their utilities shut off – sometimes in the dead of winter. This can be an extreme hardship on families with children & seniors.
My intention is to create enough $$$ via Empower Network to Help pay some of these winter utility bills in my area. To ‘Pay it Forward‘ !
Where am I ?
I live in Gorgeous (Cd’A) Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, ho, ho about 2 Hrs south of the Canadian border. The panhandle of Idaho is simply 1 big park – with lakes (large & small), ski mountains, forests (where wildlife abounds), biking & walking trails, ranches, villages & towns, perfect summer weather, Christmas snow that sparkles & majestic sunset & sunrise skies !

I seriously Love & am Grateful for WHERE ever I live. Nature & animals have always been a large part of my life. These are pictures of my current home, for the past 4 Yrs.

My History…
I’m absolutely an older, wiser Lady, with a 40 year old “can do” Spirit. Born in the San Francisco Bay area of CA. My parents also had a little log cabin in the Santa Cruz mountains, so I literally grew up part of my life in Oakland & part in Boulder Creek, CA
I was an only-child, adopted by middle-class parents who were about 40. Grew up, as an extremely physically fit tomboy, in a racially mixed neighborhood with very few friends. In the mountains I always took long strolls alone thru the forest, playing with nature – also meeting & playing with the animals I came across. Basically I was a loner & appreciated it !!!
My 1st marriage was at 18, my 2nd was at 43 & both lasted about 7 Yrs. Have been truly Blessed forever + all the men in my life were incredible people & I still appreciate all of them. This was taken after my 2nd divorce – when I became “50 + Fabulous & Free”
At age 18 I gave birth to a baby girl that was put up for adoption. In Nov 2011 she found me….. in 1 day, via an Adoption Search Angel. I’m Very Proud of her ….. she turned out to be a FINE Lady ! & we now have a Great relationship !!
Started working at age 18 & have had an enormous variety of jobs: office, restaurant, owned 2 businesses (house cleaning service & yard maintenance = manicured the forest), lots of physical labor work & several different types of sub-contractor jobs + businesswoman. But a few of my all time favorites were:
1- choke-setter in the redwood forest
2- after-hours phone job at the Sugarloaf Mt Ski Resort, in Maine, just south of Montreal Canada – where I got free lessons, lifts & equipment. At times it got to 100 degrees BELOW 0 at the top of the Mt !
3- renting out cabanas & umbrellas on Clearwater Beach, FL
4- 1 of a 2 man team at very fancy restaurant near Coral Gables, FL – at the time The President used to eat there.

6- 1 of my Best Jobs ever:
Just a few Yrs ago, had the pleasure of driving the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Truck all around the Cd’A area. No one could ever script what the children said. They were absolutely hilarious !!!

Also went around the world for several months in winter during the late 60’s, spending a month in India & there I learned a lot ! My husband & I were very giving people with much love for humanity. But during a train ride, at the 1st village stop, “wallas” (merchants) came to the train windows with their food treats. Almost everyone in our car bought something – including us. We didn’t know this would happen at EVERY village stop, so we put the food in our bag to save for later.
WHAT WE LEARNED about hospitality: literally everyone else in that car IMMEDIATELY opened their parcels of food & handed it to us & the others – so it was passed around for ALL to enjoy ! This was natural for those folks, who were obviously less fortunate than us. Right then & there, we found out what Serious Hospitality was !!!
During the 60’s, also lived in Berkeley (in the building of the People’s Park riots) + San Francisco (in a cheap Chinese Apt ½ block from Nob Hill)
Then moved around the U.S. for several years living / working in:
6o’s – Clearwater Beach for a winter & 70′s – for a summer in Coral Gables, FL
70′s – All over central Maine for 3 Yrs – from the west side to the east coast
80′s – Sausalito & Petaluma, CA + Gardnerville, NV – worked at Sharkey’s Casino
90′s – Finally settled in Santa Cruz & Valley Springs, CA for awhile.
But for the 1st 8 Yrs of 2000 I moved every 3-6 Mos around CA, ID, NV, MT, UT & TX, because of work.
Now, Excited to be in Coeur d’ Alene for several Yrs !!!
