Creating a site that is pleasing to the eye, user friendly, and has relevant content will more than likely cause your visitors to return. Regardless of how the design of your website is created aesthetically, be sure to make all of your files small. This is because the size of the files dictates the speed at which your website loads. Of course, having your website load quickly is the best scenario for visitors. You should also keep in mind that not every visitor will be using a high speed Internet connection. Perform tests on your website to make sure that it loads fast, even when a dial-up connection is used.

Attempt to make all content globally friendly. Formats for dates, times, currencies and units of measure should be easily comprehensible by people everywhere.
